When I became a vegetarian EVERYONE of my friends and family said "Lets see how long you last" none believed I would last a week. 4 years later I am still a vegetarian. And I don't plan on going back to eating meat ever again. I don't miss it, not one bit. I actually get nauseous when someones making a barbecue or something and the smell of ribs and meat reach my nose. My body is used to no meat now, it doesn't ask for it anymore. And that's the way I like it. I feel much happier this way.

Paul's actually the reason I became a vegetarian. My mom and dad were veggies in the 70s and talked about how healthy they were when they weren't eating meat. Then I saw Paul live last summer, saw how amazing his energy level was for a man old enough to be my grandpa, and I said, "I gotta try this!" I've been a veggie for a little over a year now, have lost 20 pounds, and feel great! And it's wonderful knowing that I'm doing a little to help all the animals. =) Yeah, Paul!!

He is so right. It's really easy. I can't stand the taste of meat anymore. I stopped a long time ago when it was hard to find things. Now it became really easy....and yes, it's delicious, just like he said.

I'm not sure if Lennon would be vegetarian or even vegan. As far as I know he's tried a vegetarian diet but returned to meat. He's never been such a passionate animal lover as Paul. However looking at the current situation of climate change he might have actually changed his mind and become vegetarian/vegan. I think his son Sean is very passionate about global warming too.

Love the bit about sausage at the end. Unlike former drinkers/ smokers, veggies don't secretly crave a bit of pig or cow on the side if not caught. You break away, and soon realize we were habitualized to meat eating from birth, and the smells and tastes of all we love we quickly realize were about the herbs and spices and, yes, veggies involved. Where is the next Paul McCartney? Might as well ask where is the next DaVinci is. We're just blessed to have them as they come.

We don't have to choose. What's good for animals is great for humans. 90% of animal tests fail during human trials, eating meat increases your risk for heart disease, cancer, and stroke, and if we were to use the grain we feed to animals we use for food to humans, we could feed the world. Leaving animal cruelty out of your life is good for all.

People who say it is okay to kill animals as long as it is done humanely, I have a question. Can I kill my child if it is done humanely? I will give him a great life for a good while and kill him without him knowing, is that okay? No, of course it isn't. It wouldn't be his choice would it? Just like it isn't an animals choice. I disagree slightly. Hunting for food is a natural process and since I do not ascribe any kind of moral superority to our species, I cannot find fault with it. On the other hand, breeding sentient beings in order to slaughter them, in particular on an industrial scale, is obviously reprehensible and consuming their meat is contributing to this heinous crime.

You know how people say religion gives them comfort? I feel like being a vegan gives me the same sort of comfort (until I watch cruelty videos :/). Nevertheless, it feels great physically, mentally and ethically to be a vegan. Best decision I've ever made.

Thank WISDOM that in this century that Heather Mills (Paul's ex-wife) for bringing up Beatrice McCartney to be VEGAN since her child's birth. Heather Mills also has her line of VEGAN products: VBites! If I were in the UK she would get most of my support! These days it's so damn easy to be vegan yet the meat, dairy & eggs industries HATE not getting more BLOOD MONEY. Very Odd that Paul, Mary and Stella are NOT vegan yet maybe that's how the want to appeal to most CARNIST in hopes to at least get them vegetarian BUT Dairy IS THE MEAT INDUSTRY and COWS are a HUGE factory in CLIMATE CHANGE thus being Paul is talking a lot about the ENVIRONMENTS these days he really needs to be VEGAN and promote being VEGAN for the Animals, Health AND the Environments! The vast majority of meat in this country comes from factory farms. We're not advocating for lions and sharks to go vegetarian but we can choose what we eat, while they cannot. If we can choose to refrain from causing such immense suffering, why not do it?

@nickelboy2 Honestly, that's how i used to feel, but there are so many alternatives now that taste EXACTLY like meat so why not try it? I just had a Linda McCartney Mozzarella burger and it tasted exactly like meat-i had to check the packet to make sure i hadn't picked up meat ones by mistake. I'm a veggie cos of the way animals are treated but it doesn't stop me from remembering i enjoyed meat. But you can replace it now-it's not like the old days.

Good on yer Macca. I've been veggie for over 20 years and never had any health problems, in fact I feel more energetic. I've never had to make sure I get enough protein or take extra vitamins or any of the other lies that are propounded. Diet is an extremely personal choice in my opinion, you are what you eat after all. I've never liked meat so if you do then have at it, but if you don't then I'm pretty sure you don't "need" it.

True, but if demand goes down, odds are strong that production will go down as well. And if less people buy meat, the price of it will probably go up, which would make even less people inclined to buying meat. That for me is reason enough to be vegetarian, because I know it does make a big difference.

O.k, here's my comment. Human beings never came with an instruction manual on what to eat. We are feeling our way emotionally, and with our bodies. For me, what I really don't understand about eating meat is why on earth we would choose to eat a baby animal - it's one thing to eat a cow, a sheep, a pig, I don't like the thought and I don't tend to eat much meat at all nowadays but surely we don't need to take a lamb away from its mother and slaughter it, or a suckling pig, a calf etc?

it depends on the day, yesterday i didn't have any meat, today i ate some chicken. i go back and forth. i can go almost a month without meat, then decide i want a steak. my body must want the iron or something. oh well.

Firstly they're not entirely responsible. Secondly, how can you be sure he's aware of the truth behind dairy farms? As a vegetarian, I wasn't aware until very recently, and now I've given up milk. Same for eggs, most vegetarians (I'm guessing) aren't aware that millions of male chicks are killed, most of them are grinded alive. There is a lot more publicity about the problems of eating meat, compared to drinking milk or eating eggs.

I agree that meat consumption is gross and the farmers even more so. However I also agree with with DetractMedia......Linda McCartney products used to list on the ingredients that they contain palm oil. Since it has become apparent that palm oil plantations are destroying orangutan habitats and many other environmental issues too, the listed ingredients have been altered, it now states vegetable oil, but which one? Ought to be olive oil as that's the best one, or is it just not cost effective?
