For those of you talking about Paul's performance, his sweetheart Linda had recently passed on, he was still in pain and deep grief. Yet he stood up and did his thing. I always admired Paul for keeping on keeping on, do you know what I mean? He's had his share of sadness in that life. When he was inducted that day, he said this: "It's brilliant/sad, of course, because, yeah, I would like my baby to share this with me. She wanted this. But it's beautiful, you know, she's beautiful, it's all beautiful, and we're cool. I love rock & roll. I love Cleveland, 'cause Cleveland gave me Linda's mom, she was from Cleveland. And I love New York, 'cause New York gave me Linda. So I want to say to you all, thank you very, very much, and this one's for you, baby."

Never seen Macca singing without playing any instrument. This is the first time and it is so strange. It also made me realise what a true legend he is: singing isn't easy at all but when you are also playing it gets 10 times harder.

exactly - Bass players have it much harder imho - especially when the meter for the melody is different than the bass beat - and Paul's bass lines are not your typical basslines. You will notice that when he sings he will often swing his head to the melody if the bass line is different - my guess is that it is his way of keeping it straight. Look up the Beatles version of "Til There Was You" for an extreme example kzbin.info/www/bejne/gH-WZ4awlsisiqs

I cry every time lm brought back to this video, cos of the story behind it. Paul had a love/hate relationship with the H of F. This performance is at his solo induction which should have been yrs earlier. They chose to give it to him just after he had lost his precious wife. He told them he wouldn’t perform, so didn’t do a warm up with them. He had had a bit to drink, and decided to join them on stage. So bloody emotional for all there. Their love and respect for him is oozing out. Human beings at their best!!! Such a special video.

You can say whatever you like about Paul McCartney but he was then, is now and forever shall be an existing member of the greatest band in Rock and Roll history. The Beatles's literally moved and shaped the world into it's modern existence. There has never been nor shall there ever be a greater force in the musical world. All musicians worth there metal are inspired to be and inspired to by the Beatle's. They shaped history and still do. There is not one musician or band that can hold a torch to them. They are and shall always be the masters, the pioneers, the rebels and the most powerful force in music history! Long live John, Paul, George and Ringo...timeless legends. The song is about his mother named Mary (who died when he was only 14) showed up in a dream. Telling him he should just 'let it be'. He grabbed his pencil in the morning and just wrote down those words of his mother and that became the song. This is what Mc Cartney told years later about the origin of this song. He had the same expierience with 'Yesterday'. This was also from a dream he had to wright down. He didn't know where it came from but the lyrics clearly show a person who's much older and wiser than the ~22 year old kid he was when he wrote it. Those lyrics are out of this world.

That's not fair to a talented musician. Robbie Robertson has played so well for so long. I can remember being in the audience for the Last Waltz concert at Winterland in '76. He and Clapton traded some great licks on Further On Up the Road. I suggest you listen to that and rethink any disparaging remarks about Robbie. True, Clapton blew it away with his solos, but then again, he is CLAPTON! Robbie was asked to do his part in this particular show, & he did. Hard to compete with Billy Joel, Clapton, Raitt, & THE MAN himself, Sir Paul. Note that Robbie's amp volume should have been up much more. His solo was not isolated properly.

It inspired him to write that song as a tribute to her... and send a message to the world (as to why he was not at the Beatles induction to the RRHoF, as at that time, Paul was being sued by his mates Lawyers and he was just "letting it be" as things did work themselves out)... Amazing, 50 years ago the Beatles performed this song. During this pandemic this song is so applicable. Globally we are single minded on finding a way to eliminate COVID-19. Thank you for this song and encouraging us to finding "words of wisdom" and that "there is a light that shines on until tomorrow and there will be an answer...let it be, let it be..." Thank you for showing us that collaboration (not fighting) is the key to our world's success.

Billy Joel does a good job playing and singing Beatles songs. He ought to have covered a few Beatles songs during his recording career.

Paul Mccartney was always right he has worked his way up to my heart and he was always right there's an answer to everything especially bad things and there's only one thing that can be done is to let it be and move on in life when there's been sad sad times like what happend to Paul. Its even hard for him but that's what he wants us to do and we can get through it.
