All these people who says that Paul just played ballads don't know about his career. He really explored too many genres and he decided learn many instruments too! A wonderful man blessed with an extraordinary creativity!! So proud to be fan of him

I love the Blues… and wow do I love Paul doing the Blues. Is there anything that man can’t do?

My appreciation for Paul just keeps growing, after all of these years. Hearing this, I remember a series on Sun Studios, different musicians playing covers of some of the vintage songs. Paul was the one (among the notable players) who really just floored you with his performance, the grit, the genuine feeling, it was so alive and powerful in him. The blues feeling here, capable by so few white singers and players (maybe Stevie Ray, Alan Wilson of Canned Heat). An artist of generations.

John used to comment on Paul knowing exactly the right place from which to sing the blues. In the Beatles, of course, are all the early covers he covered like Goin to Kansas City, etc., but I think a rather overlooked case of bluesy vocal power is on She's a Woman.

PROUD to be a 16 year fan of Paul McCartney ! If either Lennon or McCartney had exclusively pursued The Blues genre fir any reasonable length of time, and incorporated a few... (Only a very few of he blues legends alive in the 70's and early 80's)... I may have had to find one if them earlier.. Cosmically Hypothetical and Wishful Earthly Meanderings at best. But there it is... This morning This "day"..… whatever that is

A crime he hasn’t properly released this or done more blues type songs esp with his perfect voice for it. In the 60s and 70s when every Whitt band were doing blues Paul could of nailed the vocals much better and Lennon could as well. It’s like he don’t wanna do anything that would get critics liking him lol

This track was recorded July 21st, 1987 during the sessions for the Choba B CCCP (Russian) album. Paul plays lead guitar with Nick Garvey on bass, Mick Gallagher on piano and Henry Spinetti on drums. The song was not released on that album - but eventually was released as the B side on the "This One" single in July of 1989.
@daveidmarx13 жыл бұрын
Not quite "unreleased". This was on the "This One" CD single from July '89, along with "The First Stone" and an edited version of "I'm In Love Again". The full "I'm In Love Again" would not be released till the worldwide release of 'Choba B CCCP' in '91. The only US release of "I'm In Love Again" was on a '90 promo CD called 'McCartney Rocks', and he certainly does so here! This song always reminds me of the bar scene in the movie Weird Science. ("Fats, man. Let me tell you my story, man."

My favorite has always been Paul so this is hard to say, but… Paul has a “pretty” voice so no matter what music he is singing to he just isn’t a blues singer. IM very very HO. I don’t hear soul. He can sing many genres but there is more to it. No comparison to even SR Vaughan, Clapton, Bonnie Raitt and that’s just the beginning of a long list. I’m gonna get beat up 🤕 but remember he’s my favorite and I can only tell you what I hear.
@Music_lover-rj1961 Жыл бұрын
I get it, he's my fav as well, but there's plenty of soul on She's a Woman, I'm Down, Oh Darlin, Call me Back Again and....
