Can't help but notice that all these years later, Paul is still playing the Right-handed guitar that he bought in New York in 1964 to do "Yesterday" on the Ed Sullivan show. They still had to watch their money pretty closely, so a custom hand-made instrument was out of reach. Instead, Paul spent several hours at a music store playing every acoustic guitar they had, and this particular one by fluke had the amazing sound we still hear. This also explains why it is a right-handed guitar he plays upside down, only switching the strings. You still see the pick-guard on the wrong side.

Tis not often, PickerDad, that one can sum up Paul McCartney in 3 sentences. What you wrote was brilliant; accurate; and all the way thumbs uip to a total summary of Paul ever since the early 60's whn they were pre-fab...toi fame...to present day,. I tip my hat to you; Paul is genius, just as John was. No doubt. Don't even get me started on the tremendous merits of George, how he too, grew into his own immense gifts of songs and music. Thank you, my brother----Jenny Wren REALLY put a lot more distance to the art of songwriting and singing that could be imagined...and that was some 11 yrs ago! And he is still cooking in the garden, in his backyard, of chaos and creativity!

Prior to the realease of Paul's album, Chaos and Creation in the Backyard in 2008, I have always felt that Mull of McTyre, what with the Scottish Bagpipes, was the most beautiful song he ever wrote. But then again, there was also Waterfalls from McCartney II. From the first time I heard Jenny Wren, to me, its absolutely the MOST beautiful McCarney composition of them all! By the way, if you have never heard the entire Chaos and Creation in the Backyard,.,,which has Jenny Wren on it---buy it and check it out! A great record! Songs like Waiting for Your Friends to Go (inspired by George Harrison; Paul said, ":A George type song", and many other gems on it, is magnificent! Paul IS musical genius!

I gave this song to my girl. Her name is Jenny. Yes, if you look at it, it can be translated to random ways and moments in all ones life. With this song I have seen each moment all the way through remembering stories she'd tell me in ernest. What it comes down to, is that she has had a beautiful heart all along the way of her life's hardship. And now, once again with her, as she realized who we are together, her weary walls have fallen away and we are catching up on the life with the love she always knew existed. Her song is beautiful.
