McCartney's vocals on this are still the wet dream of every rock vocalist. A real exercise in range and a testament to a man - unusually in the world of rock - who had unapologetically found and embraced love.

They Travelled Everywhere Together! If ever a Celeb Couple Showed the world how a Successful Marriage Looked, It was Sir Paul, & Linda!! And when She Lost her Fight against Breast cancer, There were Hundreds of People at the Wake in McCartney's Estate, And Ringo had said, that later, when everyone left , he wanted George, and Him to stay behind! Ringo said when Paul closed the door On the Last Guest, Paul Seemed to Relax a Little, but when he turned to face George, & Ringo, Paul had Tears in his Eyes, and Said in a Broken Voice, I Lost Me Girlfriend Fellas!! 😢 Paul wanted his oldest, and Dearest Freinds with him Just then! This is Paul's solo masterpiece, imho. One of the greatest love songs ever. Somebody already said probably, but he played all the instruments and wrote this about how Linda deal with the Beatles break up. Linda Eastman, of the Kodak company fame, was an accomplished photographer and took most if not all of the photos shown. She died of cancer some time after. This was not Wings. Pre-Wings.
@reddoxx47542 жыл бұрын
Linda McCartney wasn't related to the Eastmans of Eastman Kodak. Her father was born Leopold Epstein and changed his name to Lee Eastman. But I agree that this is Paul McCartney's best solo song. And this original studio version is better than the live version that Wings released later.

Actually, John and Lee Eastman had no relation to the 'Eastman' in Eastman/Kodak - it was a misconception (at the time). Lee Eastman (Linda's father) and John (her brother) were both lawyers. They would go on to look after Paul's interest in The Beatles, and as a solo artist.

If ever there were proof of the existence of a 'soulmate', it was Paul and Linda. Until Linda's passing, they complemented each other perfectly. After the demise of The Beatles, it seemed each of the members did some soul searching in their music. Ringo reaching back to the music of his youth, George delving deeper into his faith, John trying to right the wrongs of society, and Paul finding himself again with Linda's encouragement and support.
