Paul McCartney - Split Kisses - «More I Cannot Wish You»

El jueves 9 de febrero de 2012 en Hollywood, en los Estudios Capitol de California tuvo lugar el concierto presentacion del disco de Sir Paul McCartney "Kisses on the Bottom". Parte del concierto fue publicado en iTunes como "Kisses on the Bottom:Live from Capitol Studios", mientras que el concierto completo y editado fue publicado posteriormente en DVD y Blu Ray como "Live Kisses". Este trabajo es basicamente la union, a pantalla partida, de esos dos videos. A pesar de alguna pequeña diferencia de calidad entre ambos videos creo que es interesante ver que esta haciendo la pianista mientras Paul está cantando , que está haciendo Paul mientras esta sonando el solo de guitarra , etc ....

Sir Paul McCartney’s "Kisses on the Bottom" live album was released in the UK on 6 February 2012. A streaming free live performance was hosted by iTunes on 9 February 2012 as "Kisses on the Bottom:Live from Capitol Studios". Then the whole and edited concert was released in DVD and Blu Ray as "Live Kisses".
This work is basically the join, on split screen, of both videos.
Despite some little quality difference between both videos I think it is interesting watching what is the pianist doing while Paul is singing, what is Paul doing while the guitar solo, etc....
I hope you enjoy this "Split Kisses" as much as I did editing it =)

I sang this song in 1976 at Athens High School (Ohio) in our production of Guys and Dolls. I played the part of Arvide Abernathy, a missions pastor singing to his granddaughter. This year, as a real pastor of a church, I officiated my real granddaughter's wedding. I surprised her at the reception by playing a recording of me singing the song, as I asked her to dance. It was a moment of a lifetime.

My favorite ballad from “Guys & Dolls” - the original Broadway cast album but dropped from the movie version, is MORE I CANNOT WISH YOU. A little too obscure perhaps to make the cut for today's otherwise perfect “Nancy For Frank” all- Frank Loesser three-hour show on Siriusly Sinatra satellite radio. That left-handed bass player with The Beatles, now "Sir Paul" included on his album (“Kisses on the Bottom”) -- mostly songs his musical Dad enjoyed -- some classics we all know, plus a few of the 'should-have-been-standards' McCartney discovered later in life. "More I Cannot Wish You" doesn't have its own Wiki entry, but buried in the large Guys & Dolls section are a few words of context for this otherwise forgotten song's existence: “Arvide expresses his faith in Sky's inherent goodness and urges Sarah to follow her heart (More I Cannot Wish You). Sky tells Sarah he intends to deliver the dozen genuine sinners for the revival. She doesn't believe him and walks off, but Arvide subtly encourages him . . . “ Is an official McCartney 'live in the Capitol Tower' recording at KZbin? Yes! Until Paul McCartney recorded MORE I CANNOT WISH YOU for his Grammy-winning 'Kisses On The Bottom' album (2012) this was a song with no Wiki entry of its own; Paul explained in his impromptu introduction (for this Grammy-winning live-in-studio video) that, “It's a song I'd not heard ... because it didn't make it into the film version - only the stage version” (on the original Broadway cast recording of Guys and Dolls). I have always loved this song. However, McCartney gets one of the lyrics wrong. He says "luck of the truth", but the actual line is "licorice tooth". It is uncertain what Frank Loesser meant by this lyric, but I always assumed it meant a good kisser.

Paul deliberately changed the phrase, due to its confusing (if valid) literary meaning...as he also did with the original phrase, "With a sheep's eye..." See the song's Wiki entry.

ALL THE CD IS A FAILLURE! HE IS NOT SINGING! THE PRODUCER KNOWS NOTHING ABOUT JAZZ! PAUL IS NOT DOING IT WELL. THE SAME TIMING IN THE WHOLE CD. SOMEBODY TOLD HIM THAT JAZX IS TO TALK. AND NOBODY TOLD HIM HE COYLD HAVE MADE IMPROVISATIONS, SCAT, RUBATTO,, IT WAS A WASTING OF PAUL, A WASTING OF THE MUSICS SECCTION AND AND A VERY BORING JOB. PAUL IS FOR SURE NOT A JAZZ SINGER, AS MICHAEL BUBBLE IS NOT EITHER, BUT HE COULD HAD MADE IT TOO LUCH BETTER!!
