I cant even imagine getting a band together with some guys you met in your hometown and then waking up one morning to discover youre the biggest band in the world. Then suddenly people are chasing you through the streets, waiting outside your homes, and following you around the world. They had very little opportunity to do ANYTHING that wasn't Beatle related, which I believe had a huge part in their breakup. That coupled with Brian dying and leaving them to suddenly have to take care of all the things he had to, they never knew how to do any of it. They needed to get their own space and be themselves..as much as its sad that they broke up, I think it was the healthiest thing they could have done.

Me and My Brother fought all the time. My Pop had to Ground Us once from EACH other. But the Good times so outweighed the Bad times, like 99 to 1. The Beatles were a Partnership or Family. They had to have had disagreements. It wouldn't have been natural otherwise. But at the end of the day, and even though they sometimes didn't like each other for brief periods of time, there was always that Bond and Love they shared Together, and it still exists.

These recordings were made by my dear friend, the late Fryderyk Gabowicz, who was with Klaus Voormann in London at the last time the three remaining Beatles were in a room together after the making of the anthology series. Klaus also received a beautiful Gibson LG 2 Acoustic guitar which he used on his last 2000 EpK of All Things Must Pass remaster. That guitar is on my wall. I see it and play it everyday in my studio.

@@RomanPragexcept the difficulty of maintaining a drummer. Their first drummer was a remnant of the Quarrymen who stayed on. He quit after a gig went bad. The second guy, went on tour in a van with them to Scotland. It was a disaster. The drummer was injured when they had a traffic accident. He quit when they got back from the tour. John and Paul pleaded with him to come back at his new job. He kept refusing as he operated a forklift. Then of course the Pete Best ordeal. The Beatles needed a drummer to work in Hamburg. They had played at Pete Best’s mother’s Coffee House. She persuaded them to take on Pete. Everyone knows how that ended. Then finally Ringo. Incidentally, Paul had sometimes put the drumming into some of their music tapes without Ringo knowing. So even Ringo wasn’t always good enough.

I could watch this kind of stuff for hours and hours and hours. I'm just giggling at the stuff they're talking about naturally, like teenage brothers, despite being among the biggest stars in the world. At 0:36 when Paul says "no, George...", I think that must've been an expression they used quite often when George said something blunt. There's a video on KZbin of the making of Free as a Bird where Paul recalls George saying that a third John Lennon song demo tape was "rubbish" and Paul's response in the same tone was "no, George, this is John". Also, we have a wonderful moment here when Paul says to Ringo "is that a filmer?" That's footage, for a brief moment, of the most successful musician of all time being filmed without realising that he's being filmed. And he comes across as any ordinary bloke.

@@mezzanish Thank you so much for uploading. The Anthology project has kind of been overshadowed now by the Get Back film, but I think that period is to be cherished because Paul and George can't have met up that often since 1970, so any footage is gold dust. The only other time I can think of is that horrible day in the early/mid 70s when they were signing papers for the legal dissolution of The Beatles, George chanting hare krishna and Paul developing his Wings-era mullet!

@DudeSilad Come on, dude. That's not fair. You can credit Paul without saying that the others "forgot where they came from", as if that's such a bad thing assuming it's even in any way related to the truth. Were you intimately involved in all of their families? And even if you were, unlikely though that may be, can you be certain that you're aware of all of the potentially relevant factors? There's no way you can be. What makes you think that's in any way a fair characterization of what is according to you the failure of the others to visit their families and neighborhoods as much as you think they should? What makes you think that they haven't tried, and then discovered that they were being constantly harassed by people they barely, if at all, ever knew? You sound like you think they owe you something, just for living where they grew up. Personally, if I were one of them, and I read your comment, I'd be saying "Yup, that's exactly why I stopped coming around, is people like this guy."
