No he would be above Brian with melody. But Brian would be above him with vocal harmony and being able to create that with out even trying. Brian Wilson is the king of harmony as Paul McCartney is the king of melody.

This tune is beautiful. How many more lovely tunes has this man created that I have never heard. I already know that Paul is a genius. I am now convinced that if The Beatles had never existed, that somehow, some way...the world would have heard of Paul McCartney. God does not give this kind of musical gift to a person without that person finding a way to showcase it to the world.

Water Falls If god exists, then Paul McCartney is god. Your god is a god of ignorance and failure. Ignorance for not answering millions of prayers from the most faithful believers, and failure to prevent disasters and tradgidies from occuring in the first place. Paul has done more to make people happy in his time on Earth than your beloved god has ever done.

As a Brazilian I feel fascinated when I notice this influence of our music in some of his music. This one makes me think of Tom Jobim somehow. I feel so relaxed. Love when Paul writes songs like that...as if he was not thinking in selling records..only thinking in in Music. Living Music. He is so creative and...superb to say the least. I wish it could be possible to find it a bit louder.

@Swooshswish I'm fairly certain that when John met Paul, John didn't know how to tune a guitar, and he played it like a banjo. Paul taught him the basics, and they learned the rest together. They learned song writing together. Did pretty much everything at the same pace. I read a study that said Lennon songs, Lennon/McCartney songs, and Harrison songs were all similar in structure, but Paul's were very different. He had his own style that he developed outside of their relationship.

@Swooshswish Ok... thats your point of view, and somewhat valid, without Lennon, McCartney would not be the McCartney he is. The same can be said about Lennon. Without McCartny's drive and ambition, Lennon (and maybe even the Beatles) would probably have faded away in a drug fuled haze after Revolver and Brian Epstein's death.

Well, you're wrong there. Paul has said in interviews that when he met John, he told John he had written a few songs. And John told him that he had also written some songs. So because they had both written separately, they thought why not write together. If John hadn't met Paul, do you really think he'd have gone his whole life never having the idea to write a song? John even wrote a book early on. He had no shortage of words and ideas floating around in that brain.
