One of the best yet! So much I didn't know about him. Truly an artist's artist. Excellent.

I remember seeing his name in so many good films and TV.....moslty in behind the scenes work as a diretor....but oddly i dont think he ever "blew up"....his only "outstanding role" was IMHO as Dave Starsky. I don't hink he ever got the breaks he deserved...and was why he turned to directing and was good at it. Odd Hoolywood never cast him in any blockbuster films....maybe because he made his name as a "TV actor"....easier for a film actor who made their mark in film to make the trasition into TV vs the other way around..... Miss the days when TV shows and film were original and creative....chalk full of talented actors, producers and directors...and camera people....before there were "franchise films ...with up to 8 or 9 sequels...." (clearly they couldn't be creative and just went with a formula...".... Funy how it woorks out....Cruise was never a "great actor" but he's "bankable"...has THE LOOK...so he's still working but only putting out sequels...which i think he had a lot of control over eg. Top Gun 2, Mi7? Or is it 8?? :) I dont htinkm Hollywood is hiring him anymore....he's just creating income for himself and those working with him...he has that much power still to do that....

I agree and also miss the days of quality television productions. I would also agree about Dave Starsky being his most outstanding role. I have a few episodes of Starsky & Hutch recently and I am surprised at how well it holds up and the quality of the writing. Paul Michael Glaser has done some great directing work, that's for sure.

Good bio however they got the timeline wrong re: Ariel and Elizabeth's deaths. Ariel died first (1988) and Elizabeth followed her in death 6 years later. Heartbreaking nevertheless.

Good catch. You are correct, Ariel did precede her mother in death. There was an error in the script. What should have been read as, "Elizabeth followed her daughter in death," instead came out as "Her daughter followed her in death in 1988." The date of Ariel's death is correct, but it renders the statement nonsensical as previously we are told of Elizabeth passing later.
