Paul Mogensen Paintings: 1965 2022 at KARMA

James Kalm admits, he likes paint. In fact, much of the impetus behind the Kalm Report is an excuse for your reporter to look at paint (paintings). Along with that, is a desire to bring viewers a “close viewing” (as in John Crowe Ransom’s 1941 theory of “close reading” from his book “The New Criticism”) of paint, and paintings. Kalm wants to bring viewers along to explore this rich branch of visual culture and, what it “means” (?) With “Paintings 1965-2022” viewers will get some glances at the Mogensen’s consistent mode of painting which presents his coded mathematic and geometric formats as surfaces for the exploration of pigment, color and surface. While a contempory of and sharing some sensibilities with the Color Field School, the California Light and Space movement, and Minimalism, Mogensen remains a unique practitioner of the painterly act. Nice work. Generally speaking, the best paintings all seem to have that quality of looking good at a distance and then also looking good up close. Of the two modes I personally value a painting that works up close more.

Hard-edge painting is painting in which abrupt transitions are found between color areas. Color areas are often of one unvarying color. The Hard-edge painting style is related to Geometric abstraction, Op Art, Post-painterly Abstraction, and Color Field painting. hope you have a receipt for that new camera. definitely not an improvement. you need some sort of vibration reduction and better mic isolation. You put alot of effort into this youtube passion project of yours, you definitely deserve to have the best gear to do it with. If i knew more about video i would give you an suggestion but i just know this isnt the best option for street vloging
