Paul Murray slams ‘hapless and useless’ Linda Burney

Sky News host Paul Murray has slammed Prime Minister Anthony Albanese and his “hapless and useless” Indigenous Affairs Minister Linda Burney.
Mr Murray claims the pair have “slowly but surely” been trying to find a way to move through the “embarrassment” of the Voice referendum.
“But more importantly - waste of $450 million,” he said.
“So they say ‘the only thing that got defeated was the Voice, we’re still pushing on with treaty and Makarrata’.”
However, Mr Murray revealed polling which says “even less people that voted for the Voice are in favour of a Commonwealth treaty”.

In fairness, Burney has a speech or breathing impediment. However, I spoke to her face to face in my home town at a town hall style meeting. I heard her make a speech, dressed to to go a cocktail party, dripping with jewellery in blue collar working class area with a high unemployment rate and low annual incomes. The speech was totally out of touch with where she was and the subject matter on hand. I spoke with her, face to face after the speeches and it was like talking to a dress mannequin. Her eyes glazed over with 10 secs. The subject matter was Bill Shorten's attempt to repeal capital gains tax concessions andf ranking credits on shares as Labour Policy. Alongside Burney was our local MP Madeleine King. She was dressed down for the occasion, business suit etc and did take a bit of interest. But Burney was a dead fish out if water. Totally uninspiring. I voted Liberal at that election, unusual for me,

I do not suggest that Anthony Albanese and Linda Burney should have resigned just because of the failure of this referendum. The outcome of referendum exposes their project as malignantly divisive and politically illiterate and suggests that Anthony Albanese and Linda Burney are unlikely having professional and moral qualities for leading our nation. I think Labor should without delay replace Anthony Albanese with Bill Shorten as their leader and our prime minister and send Linda Burney to backbench.

This annoys me so much public money has been wasted and mismanaged, on indigenous affairs, it needs a thorough audit, a Royal Commision and Something tells me there are probably quite a few things that need referrals to the Federal ICAC. What is more important, a treaty or the lives of children at risk. Linda Burney seems to be ignoring the plight of many indigenous kids, what responsible parent allows their kids to roam the streets at night, causing havoc such as they do in Alice Springs and many other towns in the NT and WA. And what responsible indigenous affairs Minister can stand back and ignore the many issues that the ordinary Aussies living in these places have known for years, when it comes to other peoples money due diligence should apply. People voted NO in the referendum because they cared, Jacinta Price spoke honestly about issues facing the Aboriginals, especially the aboriginal kids, because she cares Peter Dutton as well, the backlash they got was disgusting Marcia Langton needs to be removed when I heard her spewing her hate and calling Australian's racist, I just felt sick. Money is not the answer the system needs overhauling, and a competent person to be able to prioritise issues of grave concern, kids at risk of abhorrent abuse and neglect would or should be a major priority. Linda Burney is pathetic and seems she's going to continue on as if it is business as usual, I am glad I voted NO. Jacinta Price has the respect of the Australian public, because she was honest, her truth unnerved and rattled many, I would like to add I am not polically minded at all, and I think that's advantageous and enables a clearer view and the ability to think for myself.

A government agency I was contracting to had quotas for employment. We white Anglo males were often told to not bother applying for a position due to quota limits, the position was being held for a disabled/first nations/ethnic minority/female applicant.
