I'm 53 mate and yeah it is crazy how the time flies. We lived through the best times for music. Shared water, hugged, left sweat on the dancefloor, and lived every fking minute to the max. We should be proud were were at the legendary time..nothing can ever match those times.

I saw Oakenfold in the legendary CREAM . It was only 40 miles away for us, so it used to be a regular party night. I miss those days, but sadly they will never happen again. WOW!! I haven't heard this mix for at least 12 years. I WAS THERE. A WHOLE CREW OF US WERE THERE, THE ATMOSPHERE WAS INCREDIBLE. NEVER BE MATCHED NOW. I recorded the Essential Mix at the time but I've no idea where it went. WHAT A NIGHT. What a set. What an opening tune. At the time I was into Sasha and Digweed more than Oakey. But this had me up, dancing. remembering . Creams 6th birthday too. Ahhhh the memories!!

98-02 was the peak of trance. My first year of college was the fall of 99. Coming from a small town into the city, it was also the first time having access to a T1 internet connection. 98-99 napster was booming, and downloading UNHEARD OF live sets like this was brand new. I was in heaven. This set was one of the first 10 sets I EVER downloaded. Amazing! Thanks for sharing!

1998 I was 18 when I heard a low quality preview version of "Tranceport vol1" had to record that on to a cassette to be played at the car. That feeling of discovery can never be taken away,from there on it was 5 years straight on dancing . I won't diss the peoples of today, but man the golden age of trance was pretty fucking epic time to dance in a rave.

This guy is my hero of all times when it comes to Trance. I grew up listening to him, and even today, his music moves me like no other Trance dj. they dont even make music like this anymore... it died around 2001 2002. What a set! What memories of a better time! I remember going out that night and coming back to my mates where I had set a timer to tape this. Got back about 5 in the morning spangled, and at some point remembered I'd recorded this. Not knowing what to expect I pressed play and it was one of the best couple of hours of my life. Agreed Oakey's mixing was like listening to a stampede of wild horses a lot of the time, but my God, he knew how to put a set together.

Indescribable atmosphere which seems completely alien when I watch festival sets these days with pyrotechnics and everyone watching the DJ's (playing pre-recorded sets) through their mobile phones. My life was forever turned up side down for ever 5-1-99 I was the last one in my family that was told that there was a duck boat sinking in hot springs arkansas and that 13 people died .... out of the 13 people we lost my dad , his 2 nd son and 2nd daughter 5 and 4 years old and my step brother lost his wife ... this album along with all I had to start to become which was a raver for life this music the people kept me moving foward and for that I am forever great ful.

First dance festival I attended was Homelands 99, lost all my mates within the first hour of arrival, no mobiles to meet up again, no worries, a variety of late 90s sweeties available for purchase in certain tents if you stood near the back, positive vibes the whole day, made a load of new friends and had one hell of a comedown the next, memories of this set are hazy but I was definitely in the tent, good times!
