I have a G-Dec that I bought 2nd hand for $150 and I think its great. I'm a tube amp man from way back but this thing makes me play everyday because I can just plug in anytime day or night (headphones) and jam along to the practice tracks (which are useful for practice as they have tempo shift and pitch shift ) or I can plug my mp3 player and jam along to my fave LP's. Its no tone wonder but its pretty good for effects - you can just PLAY and forget about the gear for a bit.

I guess they're doing solid state amps like this for people in smaller bands n stuff or in the case of the fm100h for people needing a decent 100 watt gig proof amp on a budget

@KingOfShadows1500 Wow, is the software compatible with your operating system? Are you running Windows 97 or Mac or something strange?

@KingOfShadows1500 You need the CD-Rom disc that goes with it. I don't know if the software is available on line.......but you need software loaded onto your computor.

The whole reason they are promoting this amp is because you can hook it directly to a computer, so it suits as a good recording amp.

@blackskullbass , @joewattguitarist You know guys, call me crazy, but maybe he enjoys playing along with the damned amp, so what? Sure its not his "normal" set-up, but maybe, just maybe, he actually just enjoyed trying the damned thing out, and they asked him to get in front of his camera and give his two cents. Seriously, is it that hard to believe that a company would ask this of someone they give $1000.00+ guitars to? Why would you be mean towards a company you chose to sponsor you?

They are! I played a 6120 Electromatic for years, and then splurged on a Setzer Hot Rod model. Holy crap, can you hear the difference just unplugged! You know what they say" Cheap guitars ain't good, and good guitars ain't cheap lol. ;-)
