Tim, that playing over that backing track...AWESOME!!! Nothing compares to when you're just feeling that groove and loving the sound coming out of the speakers. Great stuff dude!

Tim is like the 'plek machine' of guitar players. He touches every part of the neck, it's perfect every time, and he can do it over and over without a mistake. The last 2 are similar, but different. It took me a long time to accept it, but I'm more like Joe Walsh. Never play it the exact same way twice. He encourages feeling and creativity every time you play a tune. Of course Tim is the ultimate session man and I'm a mere muggle road dog. LOL. JMHO.... 8)

What PRS says about the clean signal chain from Hiwatt and how it's fertile ground for introducing pedals, it brings right to mind my modeled JC120 signal chain and integrating pedals, as well as a bandmate plugging into the clean channel of a Marshall stack and using a Screamer for his distortion. I also appreciate his tips about hard-panning the guitars in a playback:; I do that all the time. As a guitar player and a synthesist, I heard the word "touch sensitiviry" and thought first of the keyboard synthesizers I've owned, only 2 of which (both ARP synthesizers) had no touch sensitivity.

That is amazing, really sounds a lot like Jimi Hendrix's tone, more than just getting a stock marshall plexi! The tone is brighter than most people think it is, that's the secret i guess!

Great job putting together a demo and discussion with these two guys. I won’t complain about how I can’t afford it…But I do miss the days when I could go to a chain store and plug into more than just a couple fenders, a box, a katana, or a little orange amp. GC in Indy used to have mesas and a big selection of prs guitars, and several more amp brands. But here in Florida, I can’t try any of them before buying and I do miss that. I wonder why because I know that guitar players really enjoyed the big selection of gear that they could actually play and compare in person! Nice job sweetwater this was a great little video.

During the pandemic I had an itch to buy a guitar and normally I would go to guitar center and do what Tim says try a bunch of guitars to the grin of people working there cause I was never satisfied with the feel and I don't know why more guitar stores don't incorporate doing setups in their displays. I always knew whatever I was buying at guitar center would need a setup. But I bought a guitar from sweetwater thinking nothing of it. When I got this Gretsch guitar it came perfect intonation perfect setup ever since I been more willing to buy things at sweetwater I honestly don't care that they charge a bit more on some stuff cause the assurance is worth it I have only purchased two guitars from them so far but neither disappointed.

When PRS first came into the guitar scene, their biggest demographic was college rockers and the wannabe Metal guys akin to Creed. I remember working at guitar center around 2002 and the only people that bought them fell into one of those camps. Nowadays, when I hang at my buddy's guitar shop, not much has changed. It's always the douchey rich guys or dad rockers that come in driving their Teslas and Porsches and can't play a lick. I wonder why that is and if it's just maybe a status symbol to these guys.
@MrTjakradirja3 жыл бұрын
Maybe they were poor college students back then. Now they can buy their dream guitars.

Nothing wrong with teslas lol. I work at GC for 7 years and I can tell you that most of the Gibson demographic are just what you explained lol same crappy pentatonic kicks with out of tune bends lol. I recently noticed that more of the younger crowd has followed PRS. I own 4 already lol can't beat the quality and feel of them

I’ve never been impressed with the tone of PRS Guitars. I think that Fender and Gibson make better sounding guitars. Even Epiphone makes better sounding guitars than PRS.
@konnektlive3 жыл бұрын
This PRS dude is the Trump of the guitar music business ^^ So full of himself, and frankly I'm not enjoying his passive aggressive attitude against a very respectful and professional artist such as Tim Pierce who is well known to be the master of his craft. It's an awkward situation where, even if you have something tiny but negative about a piece of gear you cannot freely express your opinion. It's so cringy, obvious and so 'indirectly' staged that makes me not want to buy any PRS gears to be honest... Why would Tim work with such a pompous self-absorbed trumpoline is beyond me indeed ^^ ... /facepalm
@abrahamyanes24053 жыл бұрын
It's Paul Reed Smith. Just the fact that he's and owner and builder that owns a company that puts Gibson, and Fender in his company's shadow is amazing. Let alone the fact that he's still alive makes any moment with him automatically musically historic.
@konnektlive3 жыл бұрын
@@abrahamyanes2405 Typical fanboy boot licking response that is empty of any strong & evidential substance. PRS is in no way statistically speaking putting Fender in its shadow, period. But, just for the sake of argument, let's wildly imagine a situation where PRS indeed did what you just claimed, so what? Why should we glorify that as musicians? I'd understand if you get excited by such a news as a businessman or someone in the retail, but as a musician? Get a grip dude... yet another /facepalm Since when wild, repugnant and distasteful marketing approach should be glorified and celebrated? As a working musician and a session player for the past 20 years I've normally played countless guitars including PRS. And when it comes to quality and sound, I've played good ones and bad ones, but to be absolutely honest, not a single PRS wowed me, or impressed me so much that force me to pay for one. Now, I had the opposite experience with many Fender CSs, even some of the production lines, Musicman, Nash, Gretsch, Suhr, Ibanez, and many others. I simple don't get this shameful PRS fanboyism; some of them look good enough, some of them sound good enough, but so what? ... There are countless other brands that are the same and some are waaaaay better in both quality, craftsmanship, design and sound.
@kitano03 жыл бұрын
@@abrahamyanes2405 Yeah, Paul reminds me of an eccentric type of geeky genius with awkward social skills. He is who he is, and although not many of his guitars are my thing, his products certainly have a loyal fanbase. That amp sounds good, although not 3000 dollars good.
@brucemerryman73653 жыл бұрын
You’re absolutely correct!!!! I’d much rather he had no clue as to what’s going on and only tried to speak what came into his earpiece or on the teleprompter!!!!
