They had another limited edition (the Astral Aurora Stardust) that used a Ronda quartz (I forgot the caliber) or even a Sellita SW200, which is a pretty popular Swiss movement based on the Eta 2824. I do have one myself that I just got today. I do like the detail, though I believe the bracelet design is the biggest weakness, owned in whole due to issues with flexibility, the flat link shape making it quite rough, and the butterfly clasp having no micro-adjustments, meaning that it’s gonna be too loose or too tight on my 7.25 in wrist.

What exactly is a Miyota Quartz Automatic Movement? It’s either one or the other (I know, it’s an automatic but that is THE basic info you should get right… apart from the beat rate, power reserve and whatnot…) And it’s a Butterfly Clasp…

well being as im not a watch expert ( something ive said more times than I can count ) I rely on what the brand writes on the listings themselves on their site and thats what they have listed there so id take the basics up with them. I am glad to learn the clasp has a name, thats helpful for the future.

I just double checked and I think they right that because it has options. You can either choose the quartz for much cheap and have no date on the face or automatic with the clear back and a date.

Hey there! Like I mentioned I’m not a watch expert, I’ve not had any experience with any of the well known and liked brands like you mentioned. I know they have a lot of people who really are passionate about them so I don’t doubt their quality- especially Seiko. I get usually one angry Seiko lover on any watch vid I do haha! But I cannot offer comparisons on those as I’ve never even held any watch from any of those brands. That’s why I usually just report on what I see in front of me good or bad. Thanks so much!

They have an entry level Seiko NH35 movements which you can normally find in $100-$200 watches. Frankly, I'd suggest ppl to stay away from these since they are Alibaba specials.

I hear that a lot and I don’t know anything for sure, but I’ve bought different watches off alibaba that’s folks said would the exact same as whatever watch was being sold by whoever- meaning they just rebrand them or whatever, and each time it’s been really off. The watch from Ali baba doesn’t feel like it at all, it’s light and cheap feeling. I understand somewhat, what folks say when they want a better movement and better parts, but I haven’t been ever able to verify the Alibaba angle. This is also why I try not to make any watch that comes across my desk sound like it’s a Rolex. I know enough to know it doesn’t hold water (admittedly I don’t fully know why as I don’t know the difference in the parts and things) and I’ve been beat up enough in the comment section to know not to do that haha

The watch itself has clones floating around AliBaba, though I am making this argument because they’re often listed as Paul style rich. Additionally, the specs of the variant I have often do not line up. It should also be noted that as of recently, more of their collections have started featuring Ronda quartz and Sellita automatics.
