Paul Rudd is one of my favorite actors. His character in Knocked up and This Is 40 is my favorite. Role Models and I Love You, Man and the Anchormans are great. He has been in so much good stuff.

I loved that whole Royals team. Never felt like they were ever out of a game. Remember watching the Royals win the WS in 85 as a kid. I wasnt sure it was ever gonna happen again. GB was my favorite Royal, now the whole 15 team are my favorites. Hoz, Moose, WD, SP, LC,BZ,KM,AG, and others. Hoping Bobby Witt JR is the next KC world series champion.

The 2015 Royals Parade was one of the craziest & best days in KC history. I flew in from Denver the night before and watched people trickle into the Westin CC all night in the best moods ever. I ended up having a drink with a speech writer for George W Bush who was there by himself, had never lived in KC but been a Royals fan his whole life and traded numbers in case he needed anything . Spent the day with a bunch of my high school friends, same friends from the 1985 parade, on the roof of the Westin in awe of the scene in front of us. No cell phones worked, no atms worked, cars abandoned on the highway… it was the best! Thank you Royals 💙💙💙

After the WS win in 2015 the local Academy Sports opened up late at night because there was a huge line around the building to buy Royals swag. I sent my brother in Alaska a Royals hat. He never wore it. Just displays it behind his bar. Great memories

Is there a better podcast out there right now than this one? I LOVE listening to their stories and they always have great guests. I just found this podcast a day or two ago. They should have wayyy more views. Once word gets out, i believe theyll get lots more views. Would LOVE to see one on the 2015 team or one on that run that led th the championship. I had so much condidence that year that nobody was beating us over a whole series, evcen when we were down big to the Astros. Would love to hear them talk about that season. That 2015 team never seemed to panic and the bull[pen was so nasty, If KC had the lead going in to the 7th or 8th inning the game was pretty much over imo. Would be a great podcast to watch, hope they do one like that, GO ROYALS!!

It's okay to not know/remember the 1980 World Series, I think a lot of KC fans have compartmentalized that one. 😂 But if you go back, it was a great match-up. Phillies had Bob Boone (Bret & Aaron's dad), NL MVP Mike Schmidt, Pete Rose, Larry Bowa, Steve Carlton, Tim McCarver, Tug McGraw (Tim's dad), among others. The Royals obviously had George & Ken Brett, Hal McRae, Amos Otis, Quisenberry, Splittorff, Frank White, Willie Wilson, etc. It was the year Brett almost hit .400 and the hemmeroids was a thing. You guys are really knocking out great episodes, banger after banger!

Royals faithful, thank you! Which guests would you like to see us have on the show?

@@DigginDeepPodcast I think it could be fun to have a "Supercast" with Mahomes/Kelce (easier said than done, I know) as they can probably relate a lot to how the city and your life can transform quite quickly when the winning starts. Media availability, watching more closely how you answer questions, answering for other teammates, etc. Just going from medium market to global in less than a year.
@DigginDeepPodcast3 ай бұрын
@@JetForceFive Supercast, love it! We're considering going back to KC to film in October to catch Bobby, Salvy and the boys in the playoffs...it's possible we can get something going then. We just missed Trav while we were filming at the Big Slick, schedules didn't line up. But we'll be working on those! Thanks!
@JetForceFive3 ай бұрын
@DigginDeepPodcast That will be great timing! I think the Chiefs have a BYE sometime in October, too. This Royals turnaround has felt so similar to 2014, the Kauffman/Arrowhead parking lot will be electric if there's championship level baseball AND football going on!

I was also at game 6 of the '85 World Series. Instant replay has ruined fans view of a game. I was sitting on the lower level, down the 3rd base line, and you couldn't tell if Gorge Orta was safe or out. Someone in front of us brought a portable black and white TV and he said "I don't know..we might have gotten by with one..." It was closer than they make it sound. The ball was hit in a difficult place for the 1st baseman to get to, and it was only close because the pitcher had to scramble to 1st base and feel for the bag with the back of his foot. It was a harder play and closer play than people know and it was not obvious at the time that he was out. And don't let George see this. The '80 World Series was the year Brett almost hit .400 and his only MVP season, and since the USA Olympic team did not participate in the Moscow Olympics, the American sports world was fixated on George's run for .400 since there were no Olympic games for us. It is the year also George was chosen as Sporting News Sportsman of the Year" so yeah, 1980 is kind of a big thing to the Royals and their fans. BTW George's first game was 1973, he was permanently on the team in 1974.
