Paul's 2002. Part 1. The Car. The Story.

With 270+ hp from an S14B25 EVO III engine Paul has built his dream 2002 just the way he wanted it. And his orange 2002 is really something special.
We met Paul and his son Rick in The Netherlands on a sunny summerday and actually the 2002 had just been finished the day before. We were warmly welcomed into his beautiful home, and after a little while we got into business and went downstairs to see Pauls collection of BMWs.
And what a nice collection! It currently counts several 02´s, Touring, Turbo, TiLux, some E30 M3´s, E30 convertibles and the rare M4 GTS with only 700 produced.
Paul started buying 02´s already at a young age, when yiu coul dbuy them for just around 500-700 € (those were times) and has owned more than 20. He has been in the dutch Touring Club for more than 35 years, now as chairman, and during the years he has collected and restored several BMW's.
When builiding this 2002 Paul wanted to keep things original BMW, not original 2002, but everything is from other BMWs like the ventilated rear discs from an E30 325iX, and that continues throughout the car.

Lovely car ,thanks for sharing.As a long time enthusiast of the 02,appreciate the love and care you put into it.I like the simple rim design,it is period correct ,not sure about the excessive rim diameter...that is not.You know the 02 can look really well on chunky 13” rims too,and you can drive it very fast still...in case you are worried about your lap times.Thanks again,keep it nice and healthy.

I go back a little further as l bought my first BMW 2002ti back in 1973 it was gulf yellow After a few years of ownership l had the engine slightly modified, balanced and blueprinted It was close to 200 HP You have done a great job on your 2002 restomod!! All these years later after owning many BMW's lots were M cars and a few air cooled Porsches l'm now in the process of totally restoring a 1973 2002tii

Je me souvient que petit apres l école j allait regarder les alpina e30 2002 turbo et je m etait jurer quand grandissant j en aurait une mais j ai 56 ans et ce jours n est jamais arriver vue qu il a fàllut que j en terre toutes ma familles sa a commencer a mais 15 ans et ça c est arretter avec ma derniere grand mere en 2004 seul le boulots me permeter de tenir le coup mais depuis 2016 je suis aux chômage et à 56 ans retrouver du boulots c est pas évident donc je galère et reve sur vos voitures qui je prie les dieux qu il me redonne ma chance que je puisse enfin me payer une bmw e30 e28 e34 ou 2002 tii mais preferer
