+NoOneImportant556 The auto has paddle shifters on it for swapping into a clutchless 'manual' mode. An automatic can hold the slide in 'manual' mode as long as the driver doesn't upshift, just like a true manual.

Obviously automatic, You can see the paddle shifter and sometime he hold the brake not hard enought the car move forward on a straight ground. unless his burning the clutch wich I doubt its an auto. But who care both the 7at and the 6mt are great its a personnal choice there. and your Z is amazing, I just got mine 2 month ago 2013 black Z fully equip with nav and sport pkg 6speed manual. Awesome car.

+NoOneImportant556 wrong decade. Not the case anymore. Check the Z forums, the 7AT posts slightly better 1/4 mile times than the 6MT. It's proven with time slips from hundreds of Z owners. Also, the 7AT does in fact allow engine/transmission braking when decelerating while in semi-auto mode. You don't even see truly manual transmissions in F1 race cars anymore, they're also semi auto setups like the one found in the 7AT on the 370z. They're optimal for the vast majority of drag and road course setups now. A manually operated clutch is becoming a thing of the past.

I have a 2014 Mitsubishi Lancer Evo Gsr and I've been thinking of getting rid of it for a Z. I love the setup on this Z but this one is an auto due to the paddle shifters ? anyways what set up's performance wise does he have for his car?

Being a former Z owner, I would keep the Evo. It's a better daily. If it's a weekend toy, def go with the Z. The Evo has always been a dream car of mine but I settled with a Tacoma for now :)

It's a shame the Z's are slow without modifications, though, since they didn't want to compete in any way with their GTR's. Needs a turbo or two, a chip tune and an ECU remap. For what this guy put into his Z, he could've got a Porsche Cayman S.

Cayman's are very nice mid engine vehicles, man. Why would you get labeled? Where I live, Porsche's are very rare, and when you see them, they're very old models (and not the rare ones either) I own an 2011 Audi TT and a 2008 Porsche Cayman (base), and I've test drove a few new 370Z's. While the Z is a fun vehicle no doubt and very sporty and really nice on the eyes, there's just not enough punch to it for me to shell out money for it and the lack of power output has stopped me from buying one multiple times. Basically, every car guy/gal is going to look at you with the thought, "That's a nice Z. Too bad my Subaru could kick its ass." I may reconsider when the next gen Z comes out. The 370 is starting to show age, anyways.
