PAUL'S DELI AND THE GREEN LEAFE, MAY 1989

This footage was recorded in early May 1989 in Williamsburg, Virginia. It includes scenes of mostly College of William and Mary students at both the Green Leafe Cafe and Paul’s Deli and Restaurant, both of which have long been popular with students and locals alike. I recorded this with a shoulder-mounted VHS camcorder that I had rented from a local video store in Williamsburg.
In the Paul's scenes you can briefly see the one and only Ronnie Lee McCray (1961-2018) behind the counter. And the doorman checking IDs at the Green Leafe that night was my fraternity brother, the late Mike Groot (1966-2012). Both of these legends are remembered fondly and missed by us all.
