The late evangelist, Neville Johnson told of having an encounter with an Angel who showed him some things and told him some things during the encounter. He said the Angel told him that he was the one who gave the song “Bridge Over Troubled Water” to Paul Simon, and that it was a message from Jesus to the world. I had never realized that it was about Jesus, and I went and listened to it again with that in mind. It was as plain as day! A couple weeks later I saw an old interview with Simon and Dick Cavet, I think it was. He asked Paul where he got the inspiration for “Bridge Over Troubled Water”. Paul said that he had been listening to gospel music a lot during that time and the words and music just came. He doesn’t even know that an Angel gave it to him.

Paul Simon’s music has always meant a lot to me. My sister and I would frequently listen to The Obvious Child on the way to church in her truck. One of my favorite Christmas gifts I ever received was his anthology 1964/1993. He and Bob Dylan have been America’s troubadours. I am pumped to hear this news and hope Paul completes his quest and finds the Lamb at the heart of worship!

i remember back in the seventies or eighties paul simon spoke with Norvel Hayes and asked him about experiences he was having that seemed like God was speaking to him and he felt his presence etc. and asked Norvel , how do you know if it's God? Norvel told him God is love , there will be His love in it. i dont remember anything else about this but it seems God has his hand on Paul Simon, let's pray for him to com to saving faith in Jesus

With regard to the segment on churches, our Messianic congregation recently installed a couple (40ish) with children as our new rabbi and rebbetzin. We did not put out a call to interview for the position of Rabbi. We prayed and asked the Lord to bring the one(s) He wanted to follow in the footsteps of our current rabbi when he retired. They are a wonderful family who moved to our area about 5 or 6 years ago. As they settled in and became part of the congregation, the leadership team was praying, and we sensed that this man (along with his wife and family) seemed to be the perfect fit. He was already a leader in another ministry, and he definitely had a shepherd's heart. And so, about a couple of years ago, they were approached about stepping into the leadership role, and began being mentored by our then rabbi (now Emeritus) and his wife. Our original rabbi is far from retired. We call him "Emeritus," which he likes very much. He's still very involved in the congregational community and in sharing the love and Gospel of Messiah wherever he goes. He also has a "time with the Rabbi" for our teen group, and they LOVE it! He has the best stories and knows how to weave them into teaching about relationship with God (Abba, Yeshua, Holy Spirit) and with one another. We are definitely experiencing a new move of the Holy Spirit with many new transitions. It makes me wonder if God's not starting to change the complexion of what a church looks like. P.S. I'm curious to see what comes about with Paul Simon and his new music. I was a child of the 60s/70s, and loved everything by Simon and Garfunkel!

I’ve always thought that! I’m alwYe reminded of Bible Verses when listening to Music. I’m a Huge Fan of Older Music, such as Simon and Garfunkel, and it’s beautiful to think about how God uses music to share his love, whether that’s what the writer intended or not. “How Deep is Your Love” By The Bee Gees, makes me think of Gods Deep Love for us, for example. I'm a classically trained pianist, and I play weekly in a hospital lobby to create a healing environment. I always close with "bridge". when it is finished there is always a palpable warm, wonderful silence in the whole lobby. I can lock the piano lid, knowing there is nothing left for me to play til "next week". Thanks to Paul for this gift.

All means all- not 'all Christians". Should we be surprised then when the Holy Spirit pours Himself upon 'unbelievers' whether they are or get 'saved'' or have we possibly boxed ourselves in as Christians, believing the outpouring of the Holy Spirit is a reserved event such as 'the baptism in the Holy Spirit for those whom already claim Christ?" I believe to start to expect the unexpected, dismantling some of our churchy mindsets.
