I can believe it. Everyone is different. Albert Einstein proposed the theory of relativity when he was 26. Mark Zuckerberg created Facebook in his Harvard dorm room when he was still a teenager and there are many other such examples. When I look at life that way, it makes complete sense that a talented and gifted film-maker could direct a great and impactful film at a young age.

Daniel day Lewis not only has surprisingly a sense of humor, but he also has a big heart. When Heath Ledger died he was on Oprah and he wanted it to stop the interview and give his respect to him. Good guy.
@oppothumbs1
@oppothumbs1 3 жыл бұрын
Can someone think Daniel Day is an OK not great actor (sure he's funny! and way smarter than me, big hearted, though Heath Ledger RIP leaves me cold, but not as cold as Day)? I just don't like Daniel's movie selections either - OK I have never liked one of his movies. I'm not high brow but not low brow either. I also think Paul Anderson got off to a blazing start with HARD EIGHT, BOOGIES NIGHTS. What does he see in Fiona Apples mostly bad song melodies? Complexity I guess. If one watches a performance for technique, then Daniel is your guy. You will never get any argument from me about his mannerisms, ability to bury himself into a character, ability to bore an audience, etc. My criticism of Daniel Day-Lewis is he leaves this viewer cold. As an audience member, I never identify with any of his characters or him. I feel him working hard and it’s distracting. Is he terrifying in Gangs of New York and There Will Be Blood? Sure but those were not good movies. Maybe I am limited .. I love all suspense (Gangs was not suspenseful) and also like courtroom dramas and dramas but I don't like most comedies and all of Day's movie leave me laughed out. Oh course if you are not a sensitive person like me, you will disagree. You want to know a great actor for one movie (besides Bournes) The Talented Mr Ripley. Matt fing Damon. Never have seen such a great actor in a great movie. Not sure of Matt's selection in movies in years, well the Left will go Left. Denzel is good, Amy Adams, Jake G, Don Cheadle, Al Pacino. Even if he was good as Lincoln, the movie was somewhat dull and overlong but just the right number to introduce this very overrated underground actor into the world. Hey my mom loved him and she has terrible tastes in movies so I know I am right lol.

Paul Thomas Anderson is a genius with a little special luck. The writing and everything in "Theme Will Be Blood" is staggering. I have graduate education. Some of it concentrates on in turn of the century American History and Literature. These films are golden to me. GRACIAS MAN!!! Daniel is the coolest person I ever knew about. Very interesting human being. I love the way he studies for his roles in the voice and cadence. It is truly remarkable.
