My opinion is it’s racism… I think his wife is a black woman. He explained in one of his interviews… Also he’s not willing to spend the time away from his family that’s required to become rich and famous… That is a GOOD thing in my opinion…

Not only is this man a great performer he also writes some fine and interesting songs, and dares to go into subjects matter far from the norm, no 'moon and June' for this writer, and as a song writer myself I understand the road he is traveling, and it's a hard road!! To anyone who thinks that they would like to start writing songs this video is a 'Master class' on songwriting.

My family reunion is going on today. My relatives have all flow in From places far away. As we sit here eatin' chicken It hits me like a truck. I don't like half the folks I love. My and my former best friend Had a big fallin' out. I caught him with my wife So I punched him in the mouth. We just can't hang out anymore But I still wish them luck. I don't like half the folks I love. God knows they're all dear to me But if the truth be told, I like it when they come, But I love it when they go. I'm sure they've got good qualities But the bad ones cover them up. I don't like half the folks I love. My alcoholic buddies are fun to hang around When we drink together, peace and joy are bound But sometimes they bring me one more shot When they know I've had enough I don't like half the folks I love. God knows they're all dear to me But if the truth be told, I like it when they come, But I love it when they go. I'm sure they've got good qualities But the bad ones cover them up. I don't like half the folks I love. In this world we live in This I guarantee We all need more tolerance To get along peacefully. But I'm not as nice as Jesus, And I really am fed up. I don't like half the folks I love. God knows they're all dear to me But if the truth be told, I like it when they come, But I love it when they go. I'm sure they've got good qualities But the bad ones cover them up. I don't like half the folks I love. I don't like half the folks I love.

I love this fantastic song of Paul’s. So much so that I regularly cover it, especially at family gatherings. With tremendous respect to the original I wrote, or rewrote, an additional final section. Hate it or disregard it...I know it’s like putting legs on a snake but here it is anyway: I know they all love me in their own little ways But when they see me coming they all run away We all got good qualities but the bad ones cover them up We don’t like half the folks we love We don’t like half the folks we love
