@@Toscanto This was not Orestes, this was Paul. 3-time WC and 3-time NATS champ Bill Werwage was the launcher, the "battery man" and engineering assistance was multi-time combat flier Howard Rush, "handle caddy" was World Champ and 14-time NATs champ David Fitzgerald.

I guess they were after a scale model and at flying test realized it had too much power. Too fast for scale contest. Better enter aerobatics category. Amazing model though.

There is a control line scale class. Some very impressive models there.

It was built solely and entirely as a stunt plane. Also interesting - this is the SECOND version of the B-17, the first having been built in 94-95. It is probably a better scale plane than most people have ever built, but as far as I know it was never entered in a scale contest.
