I have always felt we are largely the product of the lives that touch ours … as a fifteen year old lad, I first heard a band called The Jam … since then, one of the constants in my life has been the various manifestations of Paul Weller’s music … I don’t know the geezer, but I am profoundly grateful for his life catching mine … I took possession of his new album today, True Meanings … and the beat goes on!

Been following him since I was 14yrs old(now 53)...seen him twice this year...and he's really never been better. This is why it's so important to have independent artists in all fields, contributing to the culture we all inhabit. Cheers Paul.

Wonderful to see Rod Argent involved. One of the greatest Hammond players, fine pianist and vocalist, as well as the writer and keyboardist of three of the best songs of our era - the Zombies' 'She's Not There' and 'Time of the Season' and Argent's 'Hold Your Head Up' (the latter a co-write with his former Zombies bandmate and Argent producer Chris White).

Paul Weller is a man who seems to live in the now, the present moment. Which is what music is all about.. His music is a picture frame of what his life was and how he felt at a particular moment.. That's probably why he's not nostalgic and always moves on to his ever changing moods..

Pastoral is a good description. Loved weller in the jam, and the majority of his solo albums, but hard as i try, i just cant take to this true meanings album. Its too melodic and drab on most tracks, sorry if that sounds im dissing the great man, its just my opinion.

@johnpirozzi87724 жыл бұрын
When he broke up the Jam all those years ago they were the biggest band in the UK. Most people thought he was crazy then. I give him a lot of credit, not just for being such a talented artist but also for not succumbing to the pressures of the music industry. Instead he carved out his own path by being musically honest to himself. That's exactly why he continues to do such compelling work at 60. The new album is stunningly beautiful and the last few have been great too in their own way. Weller is an inspiration.

Without a doubt, Paul Weller is an English Singer Songwriter of true legendary status. This album sounds like it is his best yet, and there is some fierce competition in his immense catalogue. I have been a huge fan since the Jam days. Paul has always moved on, ahead of the game ( much like David Bowie ). Absolutely wonderful that he has my lovely pal, Danny Thompson, on this album and so great to hear his heartfelt appreciation of Danny. I met Paul once, back in the 1990's, on a ferry crossing from Calais to Dover. He was really warm and sincere and has maintained his " working class " CLASS :-) ..... Fabulous stuff Paul x

Been a fan of Paul's work since The Jam! Brilliance all along the way and this album I hadn't listened to since it's release is pretty special in 2020 during a pandemic and being an "essential business" who is still going to the shop daily while the world is shut down and everything is upside down. I appreciate this album so much, it just fits. It's so great to hear Paul discuss the work. (don't need the topless Paul, but good on you mate, nice shoes) I was a visual artist for a decade or so and so appreciate people like Paul with this innate talent and need to express themselves. Thank you for your work!

Weller traditional ,,,na more of a believer in the future.thats the thing about future it aint gonna be like the past ,it will actually be the past so in amanner of speaking the present is a 2 way relationship with the future in and respectfully adherent to lessons learnt from thw past,a dream however mutable(even of the future)is still perception and the effect of transit as science.motion is always easier after resting .yeah the past is cool especially when it is like the future .man .thats why nostalgia is cool because only those aware of its relevance can understand it.🚊🌞🌠🚟
