I mean I only started watching this show this year but I think I just found the love of my life, I look at him and listen to him and all I wanna do is sit down and talk to him for an entire night and kiss him😭❤️. I like how happy he says "he's disillusioned from the idea and decided to get his own life ... he's moved on" it's like he wants to yell it from the rooftops. I don't blame him. Also Klaus and Stefan were a great dynamic and I wished they explored that more because Klaus understood Stefan in a way he didn't want to be understood. And I personally love how much he ships Steroline. He needs a new love interest, his own life, his own storyline and Caroline is a beautiful part of his life and there is obvious chemistry there so why the hell shouldn't he ship them?

I think that's exactly what he's doing. He doesn't kiss ass like Nina and Ian do, he says what he wants and he's not afraid to call the show out on all its bullshit, and if I didn't love him already, I'd love him now. He's brave and even though he loves the fans of the show (all the fans, not just the ones who love him, too), he's not afraid to just say things like they are, even though some fans might not want to hear it. Ian, on the other hand, keeps talking about how Damon being Damon is completely Katherine's fault, like Damon was just her puppet and how he never made any choice himself. For god's sake, man, you're 35 years old. Man up, for the love of god. And Nina keeps talking about how Elena "should become a lesbian" because "these boys have put her through so much". Excuse me? Stefan saved her LIFE. More than that, Stefan made her GLAD that she was alive, and that's more than Damon ever did, what with him killing the only family member she had left. I can't respect that, it's kissing some writer ass and it's disgusting. I could understand it in season one/two and partly three, because the show actually was great then, but now? What is left to defend? Though I must say that Nina finally stepped up and said she thinks TVD should start leaving people dead. (Even though Paul beat her two it MONTHS ago. xD) And they're both right, because why would you be scared that someone is in danger or upset that someone died? You just know they're going to come back. It's like that spoiler about "we'll have to say goodbye to three characters that have been with us from the start". I only believe Katherine is gone for good (which is a crying shame, she was exactly what the show needed to spice things up), I never believed for a second that Damon and Bonnie are gone. I predict them returning by the end of episode ten (if it even lasts that long), with Damon still in love with Elena, Elena still in love with Damon, and Bonnie perfectly okay with the fact that only Jeremy was upset when she died. Again. Can't wait to hear what else Paul will have to say about all of this. (And in the mean time I will continue to be swept away by how freakishly handsome he is. xD)

Une De Mai Paul has always been very forthright about the show's faults, which I always appreciate. It's interesting to see how progressively disillusioned he himself has become from year to year, season to season, when he felt like he wasn't given range. He was the first one to mention hero hair and he did it so sarcastically and he was the first one to mention how the show uses Bonnie as a crutch, as a way to get out of everything, he always calls out the show's decisions in one-on-one interviews and in panels. It's funny because this year, I felt like Julie looked super nervous when it was his turn to talk about what he liked about his character change because she knows he always speaks his mind. Ian, I honestly don't care what he says because I don't find any of his responses honest. I've said it before I feel like he's always on, always performing, always trying to schmooze the interviewer or the crowd and he just seems completely disingenuous to me so I don't really pay attention to him. As for Nina, yeah, I read that Buzzfeed interview when she said that the show should probably leave characters dead because it takes the stakes out of the show and she sort of mentions the issues with Delena because she references how their issue is that they never communicate because they're too busy having sex but I find most of her comments innocuous or just plainly awkward, lol. I couldn't even deal with Kat's "Bonnie's a strong character" gushing response this panel since Bonnie isn't a character strong enough to put her life -- like not her needs or her wants just her LIFE -- before princess Elena and I hate the conflation of strength with being the consistent sacrificial lamb for her friends so I kind of really only like to watch Paul and Candice because Candice is also very honest but in a different way. She isn't as facetious as Paul. I want them to do an interview together.

ZalRB1 That'd be interesting, though I hope Candice wouldn't constantly defend Forwood, then. I don't know how she is now, but she used to be such a fangirl about Tyler and Caroline, it was annoying. xD

Une De Mai I find Candice very interesting when it comes to speaking about Caroline and relationships because you're right, she would only ever ship her with Tyler but before Forwood happened, she couldn't see them as a couple. She was never a Klaroline fan and I respected her reasoning because a) I really do feel like Klaroline makes no sense although as I keep saying if I had to watch a bad-boy-turned-good-for-woman story, I'd rather theirs because she and Joseph actually do have chemistry but b) she made this analogy of Klaus being like a killer pitbull who suddenly whimpers and your first reaction is 'aww' and you kind of forget he's a killer pitbull so she understands the inclination but that doesn't erase who he is. And then when they actually happened, she was able to defend the decision and keeping it in line with Caroline's character because that was purely about attraction and not about love, which I think you should be able to do on a show. Not everything has to turn into a relationship, Caroline just really needed sex. And she was adamantly ... not against Steroline but really didn't see it happening and she maintains that but acknowledges that the show can go anywhere and that there is a large fan base. I think she's just very protective of Caroline when it comes to men (which is funny because the show likes to pair her with everyone) and I think she just feels that Forwood made sense and was perfect for Caroline and I think at a point that was true but it's not anymore so her tune may change.

ZalRB1 I hope her tune will change, because she does care deeply about Caroline and I admire that. Then again, Caroline has had a lot of interesting storylines, so it's easy to care. I think Paul or Kat would have a harder time to keep defending Bonnie/Stefan. I love Stefan (and I used to love Bonnie), but damn, what they're doing to him, it's not even funny anymore. With Caroline, that never really happened. The only thing she ever did that I really didn't like was have sex with Klaus, but it's like you said, you can defend that choice. It's also because Caroline is such an amazing person, always struggling to be in control, to be good, to be PERFECT, and when she suddenly makes a stupid decision (because everyone does that every once in a while) it's something EXTREMELY stupid, and that's understandable. It's the same thing with Stefan, he's good and pure and sweet and protective, until all of a sudden something throws him off and he bounces back to the complete opposite of that. But oh well, I'm still hoping Steroline will happen. Stefan needs a friend to get through what happened (though it's adorable that Paul's so happy that Stefan's apparently moving on, let's hope it's actually true and it will last for longer than two episodes or so) and Caroline has to be that friend. And CD and JP saying how they need to work on their friendship... They've been great friends ever since season two. What the hell is there to still work on?

I like this idea for Stefan to just dump it all and move on. I hate seeing a charismatic actor having to be down all the time. I wanna see him have range to have some fun like when Paul got to be Silas. He was insanely funny and I enjoyed that character so much. Hopefully we see more of a vibrant upbeat Stefan this season, ya know after the "oh my brother's dead" episodes.
