Paul Wylie gave me many beautiful memories from his days on the ice. His artistry was incomparable. I prefer the days of artistic programs to the ones filled with quads.

Paul Wylie is perfection on the ice. It's as if he was born with skates instead of feet. He never missteps.

I’ll take a program like this over a quad filled program anyway!

No one had the footwork & artistry that Paul did. We'll surely never see that again. Today is all about the jumping.

Which is so sad. Today’s skaters tend to be boring.

^^ This. Love Paul - the footwork master! And SO expressive! I wonder sometimes if skating went the way it did due, at least in part, to all the corruption (looking at you, Russia) with the judges in the 90's. If skaters/coaches focused more on pushing the althletic limits as away to set themselves apart and it just devolved into an arms race? There are still some skaters with great artistry and skill, but they don't get anywhere without the big jumps.

Paul's jumps are so solid & strong...yet so graceful & artistic. Must be why he is such a champion! And we know its more than just jumps...it's so great to watch his visions come to life on the ice.

One of my favorite routines of his. My favorite is the JFK one. He is so great. Wish they were more like this now. Nowadays the go to much for jumps and not story telling like they were back then. I would love to have every performance of him and the many other greats from back then. Just watched a dvd I got of some of Scott Hamiltons favorites wish i could have more like that of all the others also.
