Just one of the best, if largely under-apreciated, voices in rock 'n roll history. This was one of my favorite songs when it was out. The radio station that I programmed in Texas at the time played the crap out of it. Surprising that the song is not more widely and fondly remembered. Another absolutely GREAT voice from around this era belonged to John Waite. He had one huge solo hit in the '80s called "Missing You." But I think his best work came when he was the lead singer of a late '70s group called The Babys. Check out their songs, "Every Time I Think Of You," "Isn't It Time," and "Back On My Feet Again." To me, those were some of the very best songs of their era.

Great recommendation I totally forgot about "Missing You" I'm going to listen to it now! Completely agree Paul Young's voice blew just about everyone else's away during mid 80;s -he should get greater recognition. His opening lines on Band Aid's "Do they know it's Christmas" are haunting!

I so loved this song back in the day. I have had so many leavings in my life, through death, stupid disagreements, and I am a lonely person. So, it speaks loudly to me.

Hope you are doing ok I'm sorry that you have had loss. Paul Young had such a soulful voice. It's a beautiful song but makes me emotional too. I was lucky to be child of the 80's with so much good music as the soundtrack to my youth.

At first, I thought this was Paul Davis. It’s been so long since I’ve heard his songs, I couldn’t remember his last name. If you want to check him out, a few of his songs are I Go Crazy, Sweet Life, and Cool Night. He had one of the most beautiful voices I’ve ever heard.

Hi there, and thanks for your reaction of this soulful contemporary classic by the wonderful Paul Yound. It appears to be the 'Go To' song out of his discography, but there are many others each with their own merit in my humble opinion. You may want to try Everywhere I Lay My Hat; or Love Of The Common People; or one of my favourites is his cover of the Crowded House song - 'Don't Dream It's Over'(The Official Video version); plus plenty of others, including a collaboration with Zuccherro on the song 'Senza Una Donna'. Sarah, es ist an der Zeit, dass du auf mehr deutsche Songs reagierst! Ich schlage Marius Müller-Westernhagen (einer der größten deutschen Rockstars der 80er) vor mit dem Song "Sexy". Der Songtitel beschreibt dich ganz gut, der Text aber eher nicht...😁 Sarah, the time is now to react to more german songs! I would highly suggest Marius Müller-Westernhagen (one of the biggest german rock acts of the 80's) and his song "Sexy". The song's title describes you perfectly, but not it's lyrics - definitely not... 😁
