Beautiful song and performance by Abdul,she never has had the most beautiful voice ,but its her interpretation and attitude towards a true classic from the 90s, a N.1 song nonetheless in the USA in 91 ,ruled the pop charts for 5 weeks in a row,.

She didn't abandon her career, she got hurt in a accident that caused her to take a break from her career. when she returned she released her last album and the record company didn't promote it and they dropped her. Her lasy album had the My Love is for real song. Look it up.

Saw her in concert on the "Spell Bound" tour in Toronto in the 1990's as a teenager, I thought it was more intimate and she did a lot of technical artistic dancing, it really inspired me. Seeing this reminded me of her concert.

This was the song where paula's label decided they really needed to have her prove that she can sing because everyone thought she was just a studio phenomenom. She may not be on the levels of mariah and whitney, but she can at least perform live with minimal backing vocals...unlike most of the female artists today. Good for her.
@JulietLeeNargo15 жыл бұрын
oh Paula should perform in American Idol of this song, this is truly amazing when she can focus on the singing, cuz the heavy dancer can affect her when she sings, this proves her ability as a real super star!

You don't encourage me to become a better person, you don't teach me how to appreciate myself, you don't give me the motivation to help others, your words are indicative of the kind of hate and negativity that the world does NOT need. Your disposition is no different from the criminals that you prosecute. The only difference between them and you is that you have the means to take care of yourself. But if you were driven to desperation, you'd be the one prescuted.

She’s obviously not a great singer but she did a well done job in this performance and she hit the high note. She’s more so a performer and entertainer. If you go to a Paula Abdul concert you go to see a SHOW with lots of dancing and fun catchy dance songs and cute ballads here and there. You don’t actually go to a Paula Abdul concert to witness grand vocals. If you actually do expect that, I would say that you are unintelligent.

Yo this chick is not lip syncing. I have to admit she can sing this thing live. I am mildly impressed. This is a difficult song that I thought she was brave to attempt in the first place. I thought it was all studio magic but I guess it wasn't as much as it seemed at the time. I had never heard her perform it live before.
@xivinrah15 жыл бұрын
gregg1213... it's funny how we call people who have clearly achieved SO much more in life than ourselves "garbage". She was successful for many reasons... 1. choreography, 2. beauty, 3. vocals that are best suitable for pop music. ... and is it so difficult to accept that those ARE indeed her true vocals. Her speaking voice and singing voice bear too many similarities for it not to be. America is quick to believe the negative, but slow to receive the positive. It's a shame.

Again, see my original post and what I said about Dannii Minogue. She has released several albums, and some of her songs have performed well (ish) in the charts. (I'm in the UK, I'm not sure how well Dannii has been received in the US) Her career is comparable to Paula's in many ways, mainly that she is known more for being a "recording artist" then a live performer. Yes, they both have industry knowledge, but with both there are many artists better placed to judge a vocal talent contest
