The purpose of Cornelius account was God seeing the heart of Cornelius to be a very good man. Despite his goodness, Cornelius had no salvation. Hence it pleased God to send Peter to preach to Cornelius and his household for their salvation. The message here in Acts 10 is that only been a good person on earth doesn't guarantee you salvation. Salvation is guaranteed by accepting Jesus Christ and giving your life for immersion and the lord adds you to the Church. Then you must live accordingly to God's law to be saved finally

What God is seeking for are not some great preachers, but the preaching of the unsearchable riches of Christ so that believers can be dispensed with Christ's very life on earth to corporately express Him. This is God's ultimate intention and this is His heart desire.

I believe giving is sacrifice and if one is believing God for a major miracle, sacrificing a substance with faith behind it moves God to action on your behalf. Your sacrifice is not a bribe to God but sacrifice (works) with faith works better with God than just faith. Abraham, Isaac, Noah, David, and others all sacrificed something to God. it could be a sacrifice of thanksgiving or a sacrifice of request.

I want to comment on the passage Acts 10. I don't think Justice was done to it properly-the passage is not just a journalistic report🙃. The story of Cornelius is so important. Why? Well, first of all, Cornelius was a centurion. Who is a centurion? A centurion is a professional officer in the army of ancient Rome who was a commander of the smallest unit of the army called a centuria. In other words, Cornelius was a GENTILE. Now, he was a man who feared God, prayed to him, and gave alms (note that anyone can give alms, a believer or not). In this context, he "believed in God"-this is the hook in this story. This was the early stages in history when the message and story about Jesus was being spread. Some people knew about Jesus but didn't know the significance of what he did and what happened to him (If you start reading from Acts 10:37 you will see this). Most people at this time were still worshipping God in the Jewish way. Cornelius was one of these men. What was the message here? It was about the gospel of Jesus Christ (Acts 10:43) reaching the Gentiles, establishing that it was not just for the Jews (Acts 10:9-33). Cornelius feared God but was short of two necessary things: The Significance of Jesus Christ (The Way, The Truth, and The Life) and why he should believe in him. Secondly, the Holy Spirit. This was what God wanted to bring to him. (Acts 10:34-48) It was not his giving that caused God to bring the gospel to him. It was because of the fear of God and the way he acted (Acts 10:34). Does it mean that it's everyone who gave something that God sent the message to? What of the people who feared God but didn't give alms? What of the people that don't know him or fear him? The gospel of Jesus is FREE FOR ALL. Another way to look at this is that he wasn't giving alms to receive anything from God, but out of his fear(love) of God-those are two different things. If you see Acts 8:26-39 you'll see another gentile. This time around, he was reading from the book of Isaiah. He couldn't understand the passage of the Scripture because he didn't know about Jesus Christ(again, we see here that he is short of the two necessary things) but was still worshipping God in the Jewish way.

The message of the church is to preach Christ crucified. In preaching Christ crucified the believer will espouse the fruit of the spirit in Galatians 5:22. There's no way a believer will focus on the values of Christ and be poor. The issue with the prosperity gospel is that it has raised covetousness in believers. Where the only focus is to get blessed and chasing after miracles. The Christian is to become a sign and a wonder to the world, not chasing after signs and wonder. There's a church on almost every street in many parts of Nigeria yet the people are a mess. We must ask questions. When the Apostles preached the gospel, Acts 17:6 records that they changed the world. We need to therefore ask what message were they preaching? Many of them were fed to lions because of their faith yet they didn't deny Christ. The essence of today's messages in churches is prosperity and what you can get rather than righteousness. Nigeria is evidence of the message being preached.

God loves a cheerful giver. We give because the Lord is in us and a person who gives expresses Gods love to the world and Cornelius's giving was pleasing to the Lord. ■ 2 Corinthians 9:6-7 But this I say: He who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and he who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully. Hmm, interesting 🤤. Here are my thoughts on this issue 🤔: First of all, there's no such thing as the ‘prosperity’ gospel, it's nowhere in Scriptures. That name tag was invented by the critics of prosperity, not the so-called prosperity preachers. The only gospel Jesus Christ and His Apostles preached is the gospel of God's Kingdom (Matthew 3:2; 4:17; 4:23; 6:10; 6:33; 9:35; 10:7; 13:19; Mark 1:14-15; Romans 14:17; etc). The right term for this is materialism, which means ‘trusting in one's wealth’ or ‘greed for wealth’. Secondly, God is not against prosperity. In fact, it's his will to see His children prosper (Deuteronomy 8:18; 29:9; Joshua 1:7-8; Job 36:11-12; Psalms 35:27; 118:25; 3 John 1:2). We see God bless His children many times in Scriptures and even in contemporary times. It's only a witch that hates progress. Thirdly, we should be careful with how we approach this issue of prosperity in our Christian dialogues. It's obvious that most Christians condemn people for being wealthy, whereas it takes financial and material wealth to fulfill the Great Commission (Matthew 28:19-20; Mark 16:15-18; Luke 24:47-48; Acts 1:7-8). Most preachers capitalise on this to vilify other ministers of God and make themselves appear genuine by calling others false. This is witchcraft and evil in my opinion, as it bring division and confusion into the Church. Suspicions is gradually replacing discernment among Christians. We now suspect every successful minister of God and tag them false even when they're not preaching any false doctrine, simply because they're wealthy. Even ordinary Christians are targeted by and vilified as if being rich is evil. Most times, we twist the Scriptures to suit our narratives, and it shouldn't be. We should stick with the Bible, not the opinions of men. There are still genuine Christians making money through legit means. Not every wealthy preacher out there is a charlatan. Most of them are just genuinely blessed by God and your criticisms will never stop them. Fourthly, I sense hypocrisy among those criticising prosperity. They preach against prosperity, but they themselves are wealthy. They encourage Christians to remain poor but they make money off their books, Merch, KZbin channels, websites and other resources they monetise. If indeed they were honest, why are they making money while encouraging others to be poor? Isn't that witchcraft? Why don't they demonetize all their platforms and resources? You can clearly see the hypocrisy of the critics. Lastly, Jesus Christ supported prosperity in the Gospels and even promises material wealth to His servants (Mark 10:28-31). He doesn't condemn riches or those who are wealthy, like most Christians do nowadays. Most of us today misinterpret Jesus Christ when he said “…How hardly shall they that have riches enter into the kingdom of God!” (Mark 10:23). We often think He meant that rich people won't enter God's Kingdom. But if you'd just read further, you'll see Jesus explaining what he meant: “…Children, how hard is it for them that trust in riches to enter into the kingdom of God! It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God.” (Matthew 10:24-25). You can see that Jesus was referring to those who trusted in riches, not all rich men. We should stop twisting the Scriptures to fit our narratives. In conclusion, we should be grounded on the Holy Scriptures and stand for the truth. While it's healthy that we stand against falsehood and wickedness in the Church (Ephesians 5:11-14), we should be careful not to ‘throw away both the baby and the bathwater together’. We should stop condemning the entire notion of Kingdom prosperity simply because some few charlatans have perverted it for their selfish interests. It's imperative that we stick with the truth from the Scriptures and avoid being sentimental or biased in order to understand the truth. I hope this helps someone out there. Remain blessed in Jesus' mighty name, amen. #EvangelistGlobal #TrueTalk #TruthUncensored #StayBlessed

I was shocked when I was in Ghana in 2015. Visited a church and the preacher said I saw something...People should bring 1000 gh cedis for that particular prayer deliverance. As the 1000 cedis was not forth coming the money was reduce to 500 then 200 and finally 100. If an arm robber was in the church they can easily pay for any amount. However a poor or average person who need that particular prayer deliverance badly went home with their situations due to lack of money. From there I realised this is not biblically. Could be an attempt the pastors are riching out themselves. Sad observation!

My host well-done for this enlightenment, BUT I SUGGEST YOU GIVE ENOUGH ROOM FOR YOUR GUEST TO EXPLAIN. FOR BETTER UNDERSTANDING. THE INTERJUCTIONS I THINK WILL NOT HELP THE IN MATURED GOD BLESS YOU

Im surprised to see some people hailing Abel here. Meanwhile, his answer on the Cornelius story is obviously not satisfactory.

Is it an interview or an interrogation? Why do you keep interrupting the Pastor?

Why bring someone and you speak more than them?? 😮 Is this an interview, interrogation or debate?? Give your guests a chance to speak and elaborate their answers

The interviewer is too bad at his job. This suppose to be a question and answer session and not a debate

God is not Nigerian Police that requires mobilization to work. He gives all freely. If in your own thankful heart, you wish to do good by giving to people as a sign of thanksgiving to God, its okay , but the giving is not why God did something for you.

In as much as I disagree with Dr. Abel on some of his arguments, the giving of Cornelius got noticed by God because, he gave out of pity; not expecting to be payed back. Proverbs 19:17. In other words, Cornelius giving was unconditional.

The principle of giving (seed) as door to receiving (fruit) is what Abel Damina is trying so hard to erase forgetting that it is not just earthly, heavenly but an eternal principle (Ephesians 1:4-5). This principle precedes the creation of heaven and earth and it is the principle upon which God offered (take not of the word) His only begotten Son in exchange for sons. Abel Damina's scriptural twist produces the gospel of convenience to the hearers (the gospel as product of human wisdom: 1 Cor 2:4). When public enlightenment becomes the core of a preachers gospel, it is a strong evidence that he or she is disconnected from the source. That is the level Abel Damina is operating from right now because at the point when the presumed gospel begins to make sense to people who are carnally minded (spiritually dead), danger lies ahead. No matter how long Abel Damina preach this twisted Gospel, we cannot fall for it. It will only appeal to those who are fallen. Abel needs our prayers. I remember 13 years ago, the only preacher my son knew and could imitate was Abel Damina "Ikro dabaya" tongue prayers. I write this with pain in my heart for Abel Damina. Anyone can indeed fall. Watch and pray.

You need to believe the true gospel because your submission depicts that there are some things clearly hard to be understood by you …of which you wrestle against to your own destruction. The BIBLE IS CHRISTOCENTRIC

The interviewer is like he call the pastor to show him that he knows the bible. Please u need to learn to ask question and listen to the answer he gives. Is like the interviewer is pushing an agenda.

The pastor is hitting the point, mind you the man did not give alms to make him receive from God, be t he saw the need to help people and solve their needs,God watches your motives,if you give to induce or lobby God to bless you, those who form the Gospel are thieves in ministries. It is the Biblical.
