I really love this topic. Society has made love/romance an idol which isnt it's rightful place. We have to be careful not to let the sparkly glamourous idea of love cause us to awaken love or rush. One thing God told me recently is this....."you won't have to strive" (yes I just quoted god, lol) That let me know that I don't have to grasp, Chase, follow, or strive. I can just be me, doing my purpose, loving God, loving people and God will full fill my desire for companionship. Also I think we have to realize that we do sacrifice things for marriage also. Things are are precious now may not be the same within a marriage. Some view marriage as a finish line of sorts like if your single you haven't made it yet. All that in saying that I'm big on enjoying the season your given and playing the hand your dealt. Sorry that's long. It's just what's in my heart!

I'm 16 years old, and at this age infatuation tends to run the entire relationship. This happened to me when I was 14 and had my first girlfriend. At the time I was in doubt that she was a believer but in a sense I was compromising because of the feelings I had towards her. We got somewhat physical (no sex or kissing but like long hugs holding hands lying on one another etc) very fast and it just made the deceitful feelings stronger. It all ended 3 months later when we got in an arguement about good people (who aren't believers) going to hell or not. Then she called my belief BS (you can guess which point I was arguing). So I quickly found out I made a mistake and we ended the relationship. I can say guys that feelings are really deceitful and you have to see beyond the physical and really examine whether or not you guys are spiritually coherent, because otherwise, it problems....period.

I love that part about Abraham because he is such a perfect example of literally be willing to sacrifice the person you love more than anything to God, or maybe in our cases a relationship with someone you think you can't live without, and let God step in and decide to save the relationship by saying, stop, you don't have to sacrifice him or her, they are the one I have for you or, they are not the one I promised you, they're not your Isaac, they're Ishmael and Isaac is coming if you'll keep trusting in me and wait for my timing. Thanks, Paul, Morgan & Michael

I’m 21 (22 in a few months) my grandparents are constantly asking me when I’m going to get a boyfriend and get married and tell me I’m not getting any younger. Gets kinda of frustrating but I know they are just saying it because they love me. My answer is always I’m just waiting for God to bring the man along wether that’s soon or years from now I’m waiting. I’m not going to just settle because I’m getting older. I’m waiting on a God’s timing.

Might be “extreme” for most, but the few times I’ve done it, it always ends up that we don’t haven’t come back together.

An example in my own life about this topic is currently happening in my life. So I’m 19 turning 20 and I want to be a missionary. Last year I joined YWAM and did a DTS (discipleship and training school) and during my DTS I started liking a guy who ticked all the boxes of what I wanted in a guy. I prayed about it and I felt like God had given me signs that it was gonna work out. During a DTS you have three months of lectures and then 3 months of outreach in a different country. Once I left for outreach I realised a week in that I actually didn’t “love” the guy at all. Not seeing him and being in a new environment made me realise I liked the idea of him and the idea of a relationship more. He ticked all my boxes and yet I didn’t ask God, if he ticked all of His, for me. Fast forward 3 months I met a guy and we became good friends at another YWAM base. We started liking each other, started praying about it as he is going on outreach for three months and so that means no physical contact and sparse communication and yet I’ve fallen in love with him. From the beginning I gave it up to God and told Him that He needed to be in control of this relationship and it would either grow or die out due to the distance and lack of constant. Being apart (though hard) has truly strengthened our faith in waiting on God for His timing for our relationship and our personal growth in Christ, but also made me realise how when God is at the centre of it; distance, time or anything else is no obstacle when it is in His will. God has truly confirmed to both of us over this time about us being together and we’re praying about marriage and God’s next step for us as couple. This is such and important and not often discussed topic that so many need to hear as it would save a lot of time and heartbreak. Well done guys I truly enjoyed this video !!!

I feel like half the time Morgan's like the mom trying to keep the kids in line 😂 I recently met a guy at work who I had a crush on, not knowing whether or not he was a Christian...I found out he was and of course my crush intensified because of that and given the fact that he was showing an interest in me. To cut a long story short, it turns out he is a solid Christian but is a bit eh in certain areas and also is in a long-distance relationship with his girlfriend...loads of red flags right there and after talking with my dad, brother, and another guy friend, they advised me to be suuuuuper careful in how I treat him even just as a friend and a fellow Christian. The interesting thing was the minute he casually stated that he had a girlfriend and when I started to notice the imbalances in some of his beliefs, my "feelings" faded: they weren't rooted in knowledge, just in a a picture I had painted in my mind so when knowledge came into the picture and we started talking and getting to the meat of things (the Christian life etc etc etc), I began to see the folly, in a way, of my crush. It was pretty humbling and eye-opening 🙈 And it was also a reminder to not settle as Morgan pointed out, or compromise. Loved this, guys!!! Excited for Part Two on Michael's channel!! Love you guys and keep shining

I'm only 16 but over this past year I fell very in love with a Christian boy who meets a lot of my standards. This video helped me realize that I do in fact love him but that infatuation was also present. He moved away and we broke off the confusing friendship/almost relationship for the most part, which has been very hard on me. But getting my heart broken is made so much easier with the knowledge that I will always love him no matter what and value what I learned from our time together. The Lord placed him in my life for a very good reason, and though I sometimes try to convince myself there's still a chance, though I doubt it, I know it was for good. I'm glad you guys make content like this to guide young adults and teenagers when we are unsure :)

Recently had this experience with a girl I dated for 1 month. It was more infatuation and ended up not going anywhere. We amicably stopped dating. Although I was sad, it taught me some valuable lessons. It made me want to get to know the Lord more and have Him lead me through my life (including relationship). I don't want to settle for anything less than what God wants. I also don't want to rush into anything I will regret.
@terrigreene91646 жыл бұрын
You guys are seriously amazing, thank you for speaking the word of God!! I have rushed love twice, and both times I was searching for what God wanted in my life rather than waiting and letting it happen. As soon as a Christian guy would come along I'd get excited and convince myself they were the one. I also convinced myself they had a stronger faith than what they actually had because I thought they were my "dream guy". Guarding your heart might be hard, but like they said (and my dad says this too), love is a choice.

i’m a little late to the game, but I love this video because right now, my boyfriend and I are taking a very short amount of time to not talk and to reconnect in our personal relationships with God. it’s been really cool to see just how much of our relationship is truly love because i am not losing feelings at all, and i’m looking for ways to love him deeper and be more sacrificial. i also love what you guys shared about having your hands open and allowing God to take what you have and bless it, because I have been holding so tightly to what I want and what I think is best, that I haven’t been letting the Lord work and move. I haven’t been letting Him stretch my faith to new heights and depths in Him. Thank you guys soooo much!

The video made me cry, good cry. Michaels point-soooooo true. What Paul’s said about the lord telling him to get bold is what happened to Koty... Koty and I separated ourselves for about a week , prayed and even fasted . When we came back together it was confirmed on both of our ends. He asked me to be his GF we set boundaries , no sexual stuff, sleepovers , staying pst 10 together unless out with friends, (separate beds for a concert) truly we feel God has blessed us for obeying him. To a non Christian,it might seem intense and unrealistic but when you know , you know. Just last week we talked about when we knew...and I can’t believe how our confirmations matched and were literally half of each other confirmations. God put it on my heart that I would know my husband by his scent (prayer) on our first official date I came back crying from the bathroom because I got a HORRIBLE phone call. Instead of asking am I ok. He grabbed my hand and started praying then asked if I was okay. Lol Little intimate things God had showed us over the year of knowing of each other. I can go on... Compromising is what I did for three years, when God told me leave after 3 month my flesh and earthly way of thinking kept me. God is the redeemer of time, Koty and I are older and I wish we met a long time ago but God’s timing.

This kinda happened to me except i disobeyed God because I knew from the very beginning i wasnt supposed to be with him. i guess i might as well share the story, even though it doesnt completely relate. but ill say it just in case someone who needs to hear it can. this was about eight months ago, and i was sixteen at the time. i met this guy who i really, really liked. probably based more on infatuation. but anyway he was an athiest, and i kept digging myself into a deeper and deeper hole because we flirted alot and whatnot and became close friends. we never officially dated but we both liked each other a lot. i was torn because I knew God was saying, Kristen noo!! but deep down i wanted to date him anyway. i was selfish and put off breaking things off with him. Then i went on a church retreat and i knew God was speaking to me louder and clearer than ever before, because the theme was following Gods plan for your life. so a week after i got back i finally ended things and God was so good, he gave me the words to say, the perfect time, God is so good, He saved me from the countless terrible things that could've happened!!! If you're tempted to date/even plan om dating someone who God doesn't want you to, don't do it, Gods way is ALWAYS best!!!!!! ALWAYS!!! ❤❤❤❤❤

Hi, Paul and Morgan My name is Jong from Bangkok, Thailand. I've been subscribed your channel for a few months and this channel is an awesome channel for all believers who want to have a great relationship. I am a christian for 15 years. In 2017, I've moved to Bangna district on the east of Bangkok and God finds me a new church there. On my first day at church, I thought I had a crush on a girl with glasses who came from Taipei and plays bass in the worship team. I've tried not to think that was infatuation and I did act normal. I've never thought about having a relationship. The point is that I don't want to be just like my parents and I thought it's okay to live alone. Until a few months before Christmas. God changed my mind. I asked my pastor for a prayer that I want to have my own family. Later that on a few days before Christmas, I had a chance to talked to the girl on the train while I was going to work. She told me why she wants to live in Bangkok. I knew that it was not just infatuation and I prayed to God about this. On the first Sunday of 2019, I told her in private that I pleased to talk with her and I did ask her out for a date. She said okay and agreed to go for a movie with me. The things are that she texted me to cancel our date because she was busy with some of her family stuff. So, I did ask her again for "How to train your dragon" movie that she is a huge fan. And she texted me back that her friend already booked this movie for her. I want to know your opinion, did I took it so long? Do I have to go on? Is it okay to ask for a bit of advice from her friend? By the way, I pray for you guys that God shall give you new ideas for channel contents and more subscribers who will come to know the love of God. Blessed, Jong

not personally, but a close friend of ours was so desperate to get married(she was 21) that she met, got engaged to, and married within 5 months. now I that might work for some people, but literally everyone(including her entire family and friend group) saw that he was/ is a lazy jerk. She wouldn't let anyone say anything bad about him, or try to point out to her gently that the dude she wants to marry is a serious jerk. That was the most depressing wedding I have ever attended. She dosn't admit it yet, but she isn't very happy after a year or so. and it will get worse once kids come along. I think Rosalind definitely rushed "love" because she was in la- la- land, and would not listen to advice

We really have a special connexion, and we've also talked about deep conversations. We've once been separated for 2 weeks and during that time, I still cared a lot. This week he told me he wanted to come to church with me! Which is weird because I didn't invited him, but I really think it's God's work. That would be amazing if you guys could pray for him, for Sunday, and for God to show me what I should do. Thank you again ❤

Hello Paul and Morgan, thank you for the advice. I believe that love isn`t something can just force but has to be given freely. This was very helpful for me. Keep up the good work.

I'm 15 and the girl i've liked from 12 is one that i don't believe likes me. She is literally everything i want but i don't think she likes me because sometimes she is fidgety around me but other times she has that face that i don't like you. She is highkey confusing. One month she would show all the signs that she likes me the next month she wouldn't talk to me like before. I don't know

How will true love build without attraction or infatuation? I think infatuation is the first stage of love.please give me conclusion.

I love what you said about the compromising thing. I totally know what that is like. I've liked this guy for almost 6 years and in middle school we we're "talking". Whatever that means. idek. Middle school relationships are strange ha.. I "friendzoned" because I knew I was too young. Anyway, by the time I got to high school we were best friends and I still really liked him but he didn't know it so we were just great friends. But inside I was only completely infatuated. As long as we were keeping in contact, I figured I was in love and he might be "the one". I thought about him literally all the time, he was always making me laugh and giving me that butterfly feeling. Actually, he was a super nice guy i guess you could say. He would always tell me his deepest secrets. But! When we would go weeks without talking, I would get this empty feeling and it was awful. Eventually I realized how unhealthy that was- that i was not full without him. So I began filling myself up with Jesus and that changed my whole perspective on our "friendship". I realized that all along, I had been compromising my morals and character to fit in with his. It made me feel good when he thought I was a pretty cool girl. But what I realized is why on earth was I letting his opinions define me? Also I held onto him so long and claimed that it was because I didnt want to give up on him. When in reality I didn't want to know what it would feel like if he gave up on me. I am still healing and learning from that experience so if you have any advice on what to do or how to talk to him or if I should talk to him than plz let me know!! I am just glad that I have finally been able to reconize these obvious things after so long

Excellent topic guys. Would like to see more videos on attraction and compatibility in relationships. Choosing a mate is so terribly important. I happen to believe that organized religion has really failed in this area. Lots more can and should be done. To help educated people on what to expect in marriage. Help with the almost epidemic we have now days. With divorce and broken families. Keep up the good work! 👍

Hey guys! I love your videos and think your ministry is amazing, keep doing what y'all doing. I just watched one of your older videos were it was just Paul (and cat statue Morgan) talking about abortion and Carl Lentz and I thought it was great how you opened in prayer. I'm sure you guys pray a lot, especially before your videos but I think it would be really great to see more of it on KZbin. Some Christians see prayer as something you just do on Sundays or when you're really struggling, it would be great to have a whole video about prayer. How often you pray, what for and what it looks like? Does your church have prayer meetings and what do they look like? Are your prayers short and sweet or lengthy discussions? Do you hear a response from the Lord? Thanks if you read through this 😂 love you guys

I think you guys need to explain to people that they aren’t bad people if the sinned and lived with someone before they were married and now make the decision. Because some people are guilty and feel bad for sinning and yes we have baggage but we shouldn’t feel stressed that someone won’t want us because of it
