Great shave Paul! Fantastic razor Alister, they just don't make them like that anymore. Thank you for the flowers Mrs. H and I hope you and your sister have nice weather for your run. Hot weather arrived yesterday, 80's and windy. The garden is loving it, but sadly, the weeds too. I think Alice got excited about the Sunday dinner, it made me hungry too. Take care, Ossie

Ossie Weinert . Hi Ossis, how is the recovery going. I hope you are managing to enjoy some of the sunshine. Blazing hot for Dorset here. My turn to go under the knife tomorrow as they try to reconstruct my ankle. Then most of the summer off my feet and back to work in the autumn(Fall) just in time or some rain. Lol. A small price to pay. Best wishes to you and your family from the UK.

Hello Gareth! I'm recovering well from the prostate surgery but the arthritis in my back has been rough, and I overdo it some days which don't help. We've been hot, 80's, and stormy. 60mph winds took down part of our garden fence and has one of our old 60 foot spruces listing badly. More severe weather is predicted for tomorrow; hail, heavy downpours, and high winds. Many are still without power but we live close to one of the main substations so ours has held. I hope your surgery goes well and you get some pain relief. I'll send you some good thoughts tomorrow! Sincerely, Ossie

I think the cat really, really wanted to participate in your video lol. Guerlain, to my nose anyway, shares an almost identical aroma with "4711" - one being French, the other German but both around for more than forever. Particularly good for warmer weather given their lighter citrus notes. As for products I just tried Bio Palmyra from India for the first time - it's all natural ingredients (I think it even has banana in there) and looks like paste but it lathers up a storm and gave absolutely superb slickness and cushioning. Not much in the way of scent though. I also found a vintage Simms (of Canada) shaving brush in great shape. They have been around since the 19th Century, making paint brushes but at one point in time had a detour into making shaving brushes. No idea how long that may have been lasted but was very pleased to find this little gem, which was all of $4. Have a grand week - Rob

@davidpackkard33547 жыл бұрын
Just a thought. I like to use a shave stick, such as ARKO, as a base. Then apply a good loading of something else to finish the lather. All I can say is epic lather will befall you. Give it a try if you like. You will not be disappointed, I assure you!
@davidpackkard33547 жыл бұрын
Paul, you should do a vlog on this. Use a shave stick as a base and then load your brush with something else and add it to the base. I do it most of the time and the lather is always incredible! Give it go if you like.
@PaulHFilms7 жыл бұрын

Yep that's a Merkur, I have one of those razors myself. It tends to die of loneliness in my collection though..I just can't quite get it to do right for some reason - I always wind up irritated after using it. It's quite mild so I think I have to work it too much getting BBS. I may try again with it with some different blades to see if it can redeem itself. I tried that Nivea 2 Phase aftershave just today in fact - deceptively good stuff and dries down to a nice face feel. It also doesn't interfere with colognes or EDTs which is nice.

I had a razor of similar geometry created in the Soviet Union, from brass. I think all the old razors with an open comb are quite aggressive and effecient. Like Gillette Old Tupe! Because earlier the blades was thicker.) It seems this is not an aggressive razor, but shaves very smoothly.)) I have a brush of Omega synthetics, c-series. Very soft, quickly soaks, keeps water well, and whips a lather for seconds. The cat also wants to take part in the video shooting!) Probably on the bottle it is written-Guerlain: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Guerlain
