WOW! what an opening song, I lost my wife to kidney cancer in 2015 and she loved Jim Reeves and you played her favourite song. Now how many of your flock can say they are 65yrs and their dad is still alive. Well my dad is 96 and still cleans and cooks for himself and his flat is spotless. Great nostalgic shave. I remember the cigarette paper pieces covering cuts back in the day. If you tried pulling them off before you went out they would invariably start bleeding again, hence the leaving of them on for the trip to the pub. Speed was of the essence so cans of shaving foam replaced many a brush and 'closer', quicker shaves with twin blade razors appealed to many. Have a great week.

Great shave and Father's Day remembrance Paul. Nice collection of products from back in the day. My dad used a Gillette Tech I think, the least expensive I'm sure. Frugal in those days. Jim Reeves was a favorite of his as well. Beautiful flowers and nicely done video again. Enjoy!

I enjoyed my Fathers Day shave with a Palmolive shave stick. I loved the tip bringing the brush and stick together instead of applying the stick to the face.

Nice tribute shave Paul, Lost my dad 13 years ago. I remember his DE vividly (still got the scar on my left thumb 38 years later) a Wilkinson Sword 3 piece, he got rid of it after my accident so I didn't inherit it. He would think I'm loopy as well with my growing collection.

Happy Sunday Paul! Nice...Gentle Jim Reeves...my father loved listen to his music as well. Thank you Mrs. H for those stunning flowers. My father didn't use shaving soap and a brush. He first used a Gillette brush-less cream and later Gillette Foamy in the can. Alys has some patter there. What I remember from my father's shaving is he didn't shave well no matter if he was using the Gillette Super Speed or after he switched to the Gillette Trac II. After he shaved, his face still felt like sandpaper...he said it hurt. I like getting as smooth as I can. Yes, those Gillette 7 O'Clock Black blades are fantastic. I remember you shared the photo of your Dad...it was nice to see him...and it is good to hear your memories of him in the shed or the things he did. My father would suck in his breath and whistle when he applied the Old Spice aftershave. The cigarette paper is a good idea. My father would use the toilet roll to do the same thing. You brought your Father alive by doing this shave. Think you for sharing. Happy Father's Day, Paul! I think I can go to shave myself, you have inspired me. Take care.

Excellent tribute shave Paul! I used my dad’s old Gillette super adjustable today with the Wilkinson blue bowl soap. My dad would typically use any remnants of bar soap to shave as money was tight then. It’s always good to remind ourselves how our parents managed with so little back then. Makes me appreciate what I have available to myself now. Have an amazing Fathers Day!

Hi Paul, I wanted to leave a message, as I have really enjoyed this video. Such nostalgia, love and happy memories. I can only just remember my dad wet shaving. No idea which razor he had; however I clearly remember him using Imperial Leather hand soap on his brush. Only wish in his later years, and when I started wet shaving - I talked to him about his shaving experiences. Alas, I never did. Great video.

If I shaved like my father I would get tons of irritation. Gillette Mach 3 and barbasol. I like barbasol when added with a lot of water. Mach 3 irritates my skin. I can't use a razor with more that two blades. I have tried it time after time. Also nice shave. I have to try more soaps. I recently got a bottle of old spice after shave and love the scent.

It's just a pass with the razor to "pick up" any stray whiskers missed during the shave, I made it into a fun bit, by saying "it's pick up time" ....many thanks :-)

I do not know how you have a cat in the house . I never would . Dirty . They stink up the place no matter how clean you are , and it making that sound over and over . I would last one day with that and it would be outside so fast . I am a dog person . Just saying .
