Just a thought. I seem to remember it was Mad May who told Joe that Pauline was fine. I know Pauline said a lot, but did she ever come out and say she DIDN'T have cancer, or was it only May who said that? Look how stable May was revealed to be later! Poor Pauline may actually have had cancer all along! This totally redeems her in my eyes!

Maybe all the rest of Pauline's slight unpleasantness at the end could be explained by the fact that she actually DID have a brain tumour, but of course everyone believed May, as I did then, because she was a 'doctor'!

@babylosshy yea they wrecked pauline at the end,they destroyed the character and made her into a monster,it made for terrible depressing viewing,she should have been given a much better send of after all her years on the show

Pauline didn't get on with Sonia on Eastenders but they got on in real life so much that Natalie moved to live near Wendy to help her with her cancer

Somehow, this reminds me of the "All in the Family" episode when Archie Bunker receives a wrongful death notice, and after the matter is cleared up, a funeral director inquires about hm, not being informed of the mix-up, to which Archie replies "THIS IS ARCHIE BUNKER SPEAKIN' TA YA FROM BEYOND DA GRAVE...WISH YOUSE WUZ HERE(!)"..*CLICK*.
