She has just released a new song, Peg Leg Silly-Billy that has a really nice hurdy gurdy solo, and it's a silly and fun song. Other songs I love from her are 'Brighter Days Come' and ' Rise Up' If you like Patty Gurdy, might I suggest The Gothard Sisters? Just to confuse you: Nope, Patty Gurdy is nor Irish, she is german, but Fiddler's Green... is also not Irish, but German! Even the Irish Pub - is in Germany!

It's as clear as day to me, Patty is your favorite German, who has all the characteristics of a real Irish woman. Of course, the song is a real holiday song, full of energy, and shows the joy and spirit of Christmas in the right way

Hello. Just stumbled on to you with Patty Gurdy. I've followed her for years. Celtic music has always spoken to me. I too was surprised when I found out she is German. She went to University in Dublin. I was introduced to my now 3rd Band I support Scardust by her. I feel that since her friendship with Noa Gruman her voice has expanded. Plus, with Noa, she has done a little harsh. The piece was Concrete Cages. She said that Orr Didi never written for the Gurdy. So, she showed him things that the Gurdy does and then the things she can do with it and she said he put everything in this piece! Lol There's a lot of history, but I saw the long awaited Scardust Patty Gurdy concert in Isreal on livestream. The Israeli audience was so infectious. It was like we finally conquered covid. When Noa introduced Patty for her set without Scardust, she said she is a trailblazer she really is. She has Celtic, then darker Celtic. Also a lot of Colabs that features her expansion of her voice. Her newest Tavern Songs she made she stated that she made the album and ended up making a movie. Still waiting to preorder the DVD. I am forever indebted to her for finding my 3rd band Scardust. Sorry Kenneth, but Patty studied in Scotland for around 6 months in 2016/17 - I think it was in Aberdeen. She had to leave Harpyie for that. She completed her B.A. in Düsseldorf (Communication Design) and there is no indication that she was at any other University apart of these two.

@Ado_rpg I'm not a fanatic. I only reference what I heard Patty refer to in some of her Gurdy talks. It really doesn't matter. I just occasionally enjoy her music. @@kennethdixson9561 You can't order the CD or the DVD alone. It's a bundle - whenever you read "CD" it's always the CD/DVD-bundle. Only the Vinyl (LP) is a standalone.

Of course, she wrote this song herself. One word regarding the special-featuring barman - Ben Metzner. He does not work in that pub usually - in fact he is singer and bagpipe-player in the bands dArtagnan and Feuerschwanz, who both did collabs with Patty. Then ... Fiddler's Green. Actually I know these guys far longer than Patty since they are an important part of the German Irish-folk-scene for more than 30 years (You know that Germans love Irland? Well, if not before, now you do.), which means they had been on stage even before Patty was born. The band is one of the best live-acts I have seen so far, their shows are always a big party. They have own songs in an Irish folkrock/punk-style as well as traditional Irish songs played faster than originally. The combination of that makes what they call "speedfolk". Patty manages herself, just ask her for an interview. There are only a few with her. Patty is surprisingly unknown, although everyone seems to know her. She is on tour with Alestorm as a guest musician throughout January, and I see a gap in mid-February. It could be that she is busy with another project then.

Well, after 30 gigs in 30 days in different cities in Europe and only around two weeks before the next gig in Australia, I very much hope she takes some time off and recovers... She will definetely deserve it.

@@Ado_rpg And they're driving in zigzags through Europe. I hope they're traveling in a tour bus so they can sleep. But you're right, you'll be ready for a vacation afterwards. And then they're going to Australia/New Zealand in the middle of summer. Patty will need a lot of sunscreen there.
