Thanks for sharing your space & your set up for easy access to your albums. Yes, IKEA does offer a few cabinets that are wonderful to store our precious collections.

*sigh* Seeing that MMT EP made me a little sad. I had managed to collect all The Beatles’ UK singles and EPs, Parlophone and Apple, including MMT. We had a burst pipe in the ceiling. You can probably guess what was directly under where all the water came through 😩

oh man i'm so sorry to hear that. it's a great worry of mine that something out of my control will damage the collection. but i suppose things happen and all we can do is enjoy what we have while we have it. that being said, i really am sorry you lost all those great singles and eps. hope you start up a new collection soon!

Hey Brian, glad you showed us your stereo system. I know you planned on doing it. I'm sure it sounds as great as it looks. You did answer a question of mine about using new stylus cartridges on older model turntable. I see you use the Ortofon Blue, they are amazing. I miss Bob!

Thanks! We do have neighbors below, but they're only there during the day (a business). So I'm lucky to get to be able to play the records as loud as I want in the evening. Also thankfully our floors are very strong!

You are going to want move the new secondary bookshelves because that wall heater will warp the plastic immediately adjacent to it (if you choose to use wall heater) if not then everything is fine but you know I have relatives that would use wall heater if it got sufficiently cold.

Yes good advice. Fortunately (or unfortunately depending) the heater no longer works. Also living in California usually doesn’t require heat. But thanks for the comment!

Looks like a great addition. Im in the process of recreating my music room with my records, stereo, and instruments, but its a long slow process, lol. But yours looks awesome. Question, have you done a video on the Smile boxed set? If not, Id sure like to hear your take on it.

Thanks! You know I haven't. I got that box set when it came out (2011?) which was way before I started making videos. I'll have to sit down with it again (which i need to do anyway because it's amazing) and make a proper video. Thanks for the idea!

@@BrianBringelson Great. I'm curious about it because Id like to know what Brians involvment in it was. I have the version he completed a few years ago and debuted in the incredible concert at the Royal Albert Hall. (Man, THAT took nerve), minus the Beach Boys. I also have various other bits and pieces of songs completed with the Beach Boys. But am unsure about what dates and what all was completed back in the day and if the album in the box set is completed by the Beach Boys with Brians leadership. Its a masterpiece for sure and I'd love to hear your take on it. Thanks.

Just in case you ever revisit the first chord of 'Hard Day's Night', Brian, possibly collating all the different accounts from authors trying to zero in on the exact constituents of the chord and instruments used, here is a head start. Graeme Thomson fudges the description in GEORGE HARRISON BEHIND THE LOCKED DOOR (2016, Omnibus): "Harrison's bright Fadd9 chord played on his new Rickenbacker, Lennon's Gibson acoustic, and Hofner bass and Steinway grand added post-hoc... a sound which...cannot quite be unstitched into its component parts, the cosmic gong..." (page 79) That's a fudge (though the book is good in other respects).

You have the capitol albums volume 1 & 2 twice

Yeah, Vol 2 originally came out with the wrong mono mixes of Rubber Soul & Beatles VI (they were fold downs of the stereo). So they repressed them with the proper mono mixes. So that accounts for why i have two of Vol 2. I have two of Vol 1 for no good reason haha
