Good clip. Just a note, the board’s end grain cups if cut the way shown. With sun on it after installed, the edges of the board will curl upward, making a cup to hold water.

You are absolutely right Mark, I feel like an idiot… I stress this every time I get a chance. I have been making mistakes that I never would when I was younger. I’m hoping it’s because I have a lot going on and not a decline. 🤪 I will do better my friend. Thanks for pointing out in a respectful manner, I really appreciate that! Have a good day!

Hi Paul! Glad to see you again. I have a question. I like you using two different saws, so if someone is starting out, which of the two saws would be good to start out with if they wanted to build up a small shop (in your opinion)?

While less portable than a chop saw, the versatility of a table saw makes it a centre piece of most workshops. There’s not many cuts you can’t do on it.

I would love to see how one would explain how they fell on my 6’ high fence cap and hurt themselves. I’ve seen some dumb accidents while working on the Fire Dept., but this one would be up there! Lol

Was going to post the same thing... all about the eye-pro but who cares about fingers, especially with that thumb hanging out asking for it...those saws come with them and in a bind almost any scrap of wood is better than ones digits.

100% this. I love you Paul. Use that fancy ruler to cut off a push stick. We like seeing 10 fingered KZbin videos

Good morning Anthony, I am with you and I totally believe in using push sticks. The main purpose of them is to keep your fingers away from the blade when cutting items. If I were cutting a small piece I would definitely use one, but this board is 7 1/2 inches wide and it gives me plenty of room to hold my board without having my fingers next to the blade. I totally appreciate your concern,technically you are right by OSHA Guidelines that a push stick should be used for items less than a foot long, but there are many situations where you, I and millions of people do not follow all of them because nothing would get done. Thanks again for thinking of safety and for taking the time to share useful knowledge!

Dude, you had a miter saw and you still made those crosscuts on the table saw? Really, that's not cool.
@paulstoolbox
@paulstoolbox 2 жыл бұрын
Good morning John, I understand your point but there was no reason for me to pull out another saw just to make a couple of Cross cuts when I knew I could do it with my table saw. I did mention if someone is new to construction they may want to use a miter saw. I try to give information that anyone can use, some are DIYers and some are more experienced hobbyist or carpenters. I understand your point, but you are looking at it from the other side. If I were to pull out my chop-saw and make those cuts, I would also have people telling me that it was not cool to set up another saw when I could’ve easily done it with one. I hope you understand and see my point, thanks buddy!

@@paulstoolbox Hi! Love your videos. I would suggest though to use a crosscut sled or a miter gauge for any crosscuts. Even though you are pushing it from the right side, it can still bind between the fence and the blade then kick back on you. Only use the fence for rip cuts.
