Great video! Question: about how much should I charge for such work, labor only?
@cspark91868 ай бұрын
Great video. There is one little slip up. The first temporary support is placed 3/8 inch from the inside edge of the first header where the hinge of the ladder goes - NOT the second temporary support where the ladder pulls down.

I've noticed a lot of people don't break off their shims to remove the excess wood. Do you always do that? It makes it look a heck of a lot better, that's for sure.

My ladder calls for 16D nails…will I have any issues if I use what they instruct?
@paulstoolbox Жыл бұрын
You can never go wrong by using the recommended fasteners from a manufacture. I however, like to use screws, but that is my personal preference. I don’t think you will go wrong by using the screws, but you will definitely not be at fault by using what they recommend. I hope this helps, thanks.

Are these legal per fire codes? Seems to me like a great pathway for a fire to spread to the attic.

Can you plz come fix my attic stair & countertop PLEASE
@dwgjagg Жыл бұрын
Excited to try this method, but did not work for me. The support at 3/8” on the on the opening side worked fine. The problem was, on the non-opening side, the support would only allow the ladder to open a couple of feet before hitting the support and starting to lift the ladder assembly up. Wound up having to install from the topside in the attic. Seems to be some creative editing going on here…

Hi sunandthemion, you must not have seen the end of the video. We trimmed it out with door casing and painted it. Thanks!
@kevlar14822 жыл бұрын
@@paulstoolbox No, you must not have seen the end of the video which was about a marble top or something totally unrelated. You trimmed it with painted casing but the door itself looked like ass with visible hardware and the string hanging down in the middle of the hallway.
@joshualand5467 Жыл бұрын
Yeah what about painting?
@mechanicalcanvas11 ай бұрын
@@kevlar1482 Lol what? Have you never seen an attic door before? How the hell are you going to pull it down without a string. Also I'm sure they painted the actual door later to match the trim and ceiling, which will also hide the factory ladder screws
