This video is based on a work by Gabriel Faure: kzbin.info/www/bejne/lZTJnJWLr71ll5o A powerful jazz arrangement of this same work: kzbin.info/www/bejne/i6aoc3puZdF4j7s

No resemblance at all, completely different interpretations. It's a dark piece "Pavane for a Dead Princess" and Riyoko's version is darker while the one you linked is much brighter. I don't know if this was an attempt to discredit or just a promotion but you clearly don't know anything about Riyoko and what she is all about. She creates her own arrangements for everything while improvising and never plays anything the same way twice, not even her own original music.

@@LogioTek I do not claim resemblance. I did not wish to "discredit" anything. I have nothing to promote. You do not know anything about what I do or do not know. Your last sentence relates things that I have assumed are the case since I first heard Ms. Takagi.

@@lylecosmopolite So then enlighten me, what was the point of writing what you did and claiming that "this (Riyoko's) video is based on a work by Gabriel Faure"? I can almost guarantee you, Riyoko never heard of Gabriel Faure.

@@LogioTek How can you "guarantee" that Ms. Takagi has never heard of Faure, a significant 19th century classical composer? If you do not see the point of what I wrote, then ignore it.

@@lylecosmopolite I said I can "almost" guarantee, meaning 95th percentile or so. Words matter, if you still haven't realized that. Riyoko is a classically trained Jazz crossover pianist, she doesn't need a reference to improvise classical pieces. Anyway, I found your original comment a bit strange but we both seem to be Riyoko fans, so there is no need to continue this argument. Maybe I misunderstood the point of your original comment and it was just a historical reference but there could have been clearer way to state it as such because it comes off like it's trying to diminish Riyoko's own abilities to interpret.
