With the last note, he doesn't take a breath! Absolutely incredible! He did say Joan Sutherland taught him about the strong diaphragm and breathing. She was magnificent with holding those high notes. What a gift artists like this were to this earth.

Seen this version a few locations. I cannot believe that anyone ever could have done a better version. When Luciano was young just his vibrato was the highest ever. Never heard better. Never will. Not me going deaf.....just his stunning talent. 80 if you were still alive. Wish you were if not something cruel like pancreatic adenocarinoma.... that was the one wasn't it Luciano? Claire this clip is from a movie "Yes, Giorgio" It's a must see if you like Pavarotti. He sings quite a bit, some italian folk songs and some opera. The woman has nothing to do with the opera. His character is having an affair with the blonde. I bought the movie on Amazon. I highly recommend it.
