in sweden (where i play) you're not allowed to place your feet in the goaltenders square (the blue one on your field) that leaves you with the other team either starting the ball in the corner or a penalty shot. much love from sweden!! and great stick handling btw

the goalies seem way to eager to go down, I always found the best method to goaltend with out skates is to play like a drunken baseball catcher.

No I don't think so. However I believe a large percentage of hockey players will play floorball as an off ice variant to hockey as the sport grows and leagues begin to form.

I’m not sure I get why people would play this over regular ball hockey and don’t the players hands get hit without wearing gloves?

More skilled and faster pace game. I love ball hockey don't get me wrong but you don't have to think nearly as fast, change directions as much, or physically react to a play as quickly either. Ball hockey is a lot of slapshots from very far away when compared to professional floorball. Players don't get hands hurt because the stick infractions are different than hockey.

I am a ball hockey player transformed into floorball player. Floorball is less about physical contact than ball hockey (I am not saying that floorball is not physical at all!) and lot more about speed and stickhandling. Another thing is that world championship in floorball is much more pleasing for the spectators than world championship in ball hockey, since ball hockey championships are played on a huge ice hockey rink, where it simply looks unbelievably slow especially when you compare it to ice hockey. And also there is also more goals in floorball (usually). You dont need gloves in floorball, almost every stick on stick contact is slashing.
