Pavement preservation project Performed by Asphalt Paving Systems of Hammonton NJ.
This video features an Etnyre asphalt distributor, and Etnyre Aggregate spreader, Two Caterpillar Pneumatic rollers, a conveyor broomer, and A couple Freightliner Street sweepers. I am writing this at 5.45am. on Sunday, and the temp is 28degF. I have never seen such an efficient work crew, and I am wondering just how long this process took to complete, as seen in this video? The end result looks great and far better than I have seen in my area recently. A similar road project here was recently completed over a period of 1 week. Fascinating video, well done Cameron 👏 👍

Thanks John! This project stretches from 9am-3pm. 3 miles a day. If I remember correctly the project is from may-August.

@Cam_mak 3 miles per day??? The project that I mentioned was a half mile (approximately) and took 1 week 😳. I am super impressed with what you have shown us, and maybe they should come here and show us how it is done. I am convinced that our road crew are all golfers (they complete 9 holes and go home)😂. BTW: I have always liked the smell of freshly laid ashfalt. I look forward to more of this series. Enjoy the rest of your weekend, Cam.

What are they using for aggregate?

@@evanstauffer4470 Crushed stone, I don’t recall what type. This was the first layover. After this, they come back a few weeks later and lay down what they call a “asphalt + rubber chip seal”. Stuff goes down Hot. More episodes coming soon if you’re interested!

For some reason water truck didn’t come through this day. They usually spray the road with water before all the sweeping

That scrub chip seal is worthless it will never cover the crack and you have less oil rate per SF.

@@p.youhana3563 a year after the project, I somewhat agree. Its finished product wore off quickly. It’s not a bad riding quality though, and it’s not a mess. Ive seen worse for sure

I have said that’s exactly what they should do here in North Carolina when they do that chip seal
