What is it with Bob? Can you tell the story?
@mskcrc4 жыл бұрын
@@Juanmariabrausen I read about it ten years ago, so it might be off a little. You can do some googling. The story was that Bob loved to gamble on horses (he may have owned one?) and had lost his shirt doing so, so he lobbied hard for Pavement to cash in on the reunion hype that was going around (Pixies, Pavement, Dinosaur Jr., GBV, Archers of Loaf, Breeders all did the same around that time).

He actually said to me that Stephen was doing so good that he didn't need them. It was kind of a bummer statement. Exactly 2 summers later, I saw the reformed Pavement on that exact same fucking spot. 2010. I also met him quickly after a Sonic Youth gig when he was playing bass for them.

Nice to see them all having a great time. The one time I saw them back in '96, Malkmus was mind numbingly awful to his bandmates. It really killed the vibes, and made me never want to see them live again, even though they are one of my favorite bands.
@dickrichards14402 жыл бұрын
They were awful, or rather Stephen was, and I believe they, as most in the crowd, had taken significant amounts of this fruit roll upesque textured mescaline...with a very pejorative moniker. It had gold flecks , within black gel, and the kids were referring to it as _ _ _ _ _ _ with a gold tooth. It's named was unfortunate, and insensitive, to be sure, but it's certainly served the scene...I could care less that Pavement sounded like shit, and they didn't seem that bothered either. Lollapalooza they were terrible as well. The New Orleans gig anyway...did these two fiasco, hinder my adoration for these magnificent bastards. .I'm here aren't I ?????? So no, not at all.
