Paving a courtyard with recycled bricks

Я не понимаю, для чего делать панорамные большие окна и глухой досчатый забор? Не на что любоваться, кроме кирпичного 😢дворика, глаза утыкаются в забор.

Ah yes, very observant! I’ve planted Boston Ivy to grow on the fence so in 1-2 years it will be completely covered and change colour throughout the year. The large windows also make the house nice and light inside.

Is it sand and cement to fill the gaps?

It’s just sand.

It depends. If you lay on sand then I wouldn’t as it will crack. If you lay on mortar then you can. However you can’t lay on mortar if you’re in a location that gets frost as it will break. Rain can wash it out a little bit but if you pack it all down it should stay in. You might need to top it up a bit after the first heavy rain.

How long did you finish the whole project? More than 5 mins

I can’t remember exactly how long it took but it was definitely more that 5 minutes 👍

This was around 35 m2. Including the digging it took just over a week.
