I understand. I have a 1993 Jeff Beck Stratocaster in surf green that belonged to my father. It’s not worth anything crazy but I plays like a dream. Someone could offer me any amount of money and I wouldn’t part ways with it. Sometimes certain items hold a place in your heart that’s worth more than any monetary value. It was his favorite instrument, and now it’s my favorite instrument. I honestly love it like a family member.

I hate it when people say “This is the holy grail” with every rarity or special guitar that comes in. In my mind the only “holy grail” is and will only ever be an original 1959 Gibson LP Burst. I think you can put a ‘58 or a 57 Goldtop in that category but for every cool or high dollar item that comes thru doesn’t make it a “holy grail.” Just my thoughts.

Not entirely true. Say not a lot of people bid on it but it still goes for say $70,000, by the time he'd of paid his auction fees of about 30% and maybe others, he'd walk with $49,000, possibly less. Auctions can go seriously wrong too.
