I've actually seen an episode where the seller was an actual expert in I think it was modern artist and the guy was a super rich collector and when Rick said I know a guy who can come tell me if this painting is real or not and said he is one of the most known in the field and when the expert came in the seller said he'd been selling buying and grading art for 25 years and never even heard of ricks expert and basically called him a liar when the guy said his painting was only worth half what the guy asked for.

Patriots Fan any reseller be it sports shop or an antique store, will pay about the same as a pawn shop because they will be taking the risk of the time and effort it takes to sell to buyer willing to pay the true value. Now people go to pawnshops because they can provide you instant cash for your item on the spot. Its not gonna be what the item is worth but when you need money quick, you are gonna sell below value anyhow. Also, pawnshops are great for people who buy stuff yardsales or estate sales for dirt cheap that turn out to be valuable but hard to sell. So if you buy a rare action figure in mint condition from a yard sale for lets say $10 because the owner had no idea about the value, which is valued at about $500. So you take it to a pawn shop which offers you $250 for it. Then yeah thats a good deal for someone who only paid $10.

Checked the population report on this card, done using the verification number in the lower right hand corner on the PSA label. This card is a population 1, indicating that there is only one of these cards graded in that specific condition (PSA 10). There isn't "another one", so either this guy went on to flip his on eBay or you need to refine your search.

Years ago i tried to take one of my old guitars to a pawn shop it wasnt a famous guitar or well known brand it had a few scuffs on it and the shop didnt want it. They told me people want something nice. And ironically they had guitars for sale in worse shape than mine. No strings the neck all busted. Just a small pawn shop nothing like this one. Guy must not have liked how i looked or something

Now that I look back on that event years ago im glad they didnt take it. It means too much to me and no price tag could replace the sentimental value. The guy with the card should go to business school. Pawn shops are for desperate people only to get loans. You take an item as collateral and if you don't pay back in a certain amount of time you lose the item. Meanwhile the pawn shop has to pay interest on the money they lent you or could have invested it somewhere else. And then there are all the usual expenses they have to cover.

The show is scripted. They're doing actual deals but it's not like they bring cameras to the store and just randomly start filming customers coming in. I believe you have to send an application if you want to appear on the show, and they know in advance what item your bringing in, so they can also contact the experts beforehand.
