I was thinking that, too. Even if they find that (the future President) Reagan wore an identical helmet and/or find letters about him giving it to someone, it doesn't prove this was his. Was there more than one R. Reagan in the Army Air Force? The wardrobe department may have made several dozen spare helmets for him; did he ever wear this one? Matching DNA in the helmet would be more conclusive.

Seems like must have worn different ones at different times and I am willing to bet this one is authentic from at least one of those films. He was commissioned as a Lieutenant so that is accurate on the cap, although he was discharged as a Captain at the end of WWII.
