As someone else said, the show is all staged. They have scenes like this so try to make it look like their offers are more fair than fans sometimes think. In reality, people go to the store or call them, they're given flat prices for pawn or purchase like any pawn or antique shop offers based on a list they have that factors in certain variables, and then the seller decides whether to accept it. For the show, they then ask the seller if they can feature the item, and have them come on and act out some haggling to get to the price they already set. In fact, the scenes for the show are shot in a different location that is set up on is a stage with cameras, lighting, and stuff.
