In 2006, this copy of the first “exact facsimile” of the Declaration was cleaned out of a garage and donated to a thrift shop, where it sold for the thrift shop “standard price” of $2.48. The buyer researched it, had it authenticated, and sent it to a top conservator. He then sold in 2007 at Raynor’s Historical Collectible Auction, for $477,000. After post-discovery press, the donor came forward (“I was the idiot,” he said). He explained that cleaning out the garage was part of his recent pre-marriage negotiation. Out went a great deal of junk-along with the Declaration that he had bought it at a flea market for $10 a decade earlier). We acquired this document for a client in 2008.

Also they have a tv show so people want to be on it and they’ll sell for whatever price than they normally would. I’ve been there 2 summers ago and I missed the whole crew by a few days because they all literally take the entire summer off for vacation. I talked to a really cool employee they have who pretty much told me a lot. Because I was pretty upset that I missed them, especially by a couple of days. I like rick. Most of you all hate him. Buyer beware... also, seller beware. A pawn shop is often a last, least appealing resort for someone needing money for an object that a prospective seller values. No one forces anyone to go to a pawn shop to sell an item. And a pawn shop is relying on the seller's potential desperation for money. A seller can always walk away. Keyword potentially!!!! Or it could go for $2000. You go find the guy with the shitty condition piece of paper, offer him 25000 and then take it to auction and get $2000 Because you took the risk then come on here and tell us how much money you lost. If he says 6 grand, why would you even say, I’d come down to 18. Is he expecting Corey to say oh yea okay now that’s a deal!. People annoy me
@bighands697 жыл бұрын
No he is expecting more money than $6000 saying he wants $18,000 shows him that he wants the offer to go up.

People who downgrade actual Collector's who know their history and information annoy me. The man asked for a very low price in the beginning.. The fact that he even offered 6k is fucking ridiculous. $22,000 when it's worth about $50-60k.

Casey23UA1 I’ve seen every episode at least 3 times. It happens all the time and they RARELY come up to something close to their counter offer. If he said 6k I would of countered with something much lower than 18k. If I was willing to let it go.

Goes from the asking price of $25,000 to $4,000 Grand. Right then and there I'd have said F-U and left. And he gets a mere $6,000. That document in my opinion even in the shape that it's in. Which isn't "that" bad. Would be worth $50,000+
