Norrad you can keep old stuff in decent condition if you keep it right. The ink is rubbed off in several places meaning it probably wasn’t kept correctly

Everyone on this string is right. I inherited my dad's old Major Matt Mason toys and they were from that era and older, and they were in good condition. I also inherited my mom's old Lego bricks and mini figs, and they're still in good condition. Old mini figs do crack at the arms easily, so if they are stored out of sunlight they will be fine.

The signatures where not clear at all, if you are a collector you want stuff like that clear as day. It wasnt so the price made sense cuz im sure you would only get maybe 2000 for it.

@@jeffw1267 there are hundreds of not thousands of balls signed every year. A signed ball from 1951 is decent, but the championship is what pays. The age didn't give much value, the signatures did. 800 is reasonable, an eclectic buyer will pay more but they usually want as much significance as possible.

This ball ended up selling for $19,750 at Drakes Auction House in Syracuse NY last summer. He donated 25% to charity. I was there.

My great grandpa played for the yankees in the 50s, and was with them for three of their world series wins, 51, 52, and 53. So the ball likely has his signature on it.
