Paws: A Shelter 2 Game [Walkthrough] Part 3 [Alternative Ending]

I chose to stay with the bear. The game ends the same way no matter what you chose, the only difference is that if you chose the bear you find yourself seeing your mother at the ending, while if you go with your mother, you see the bear with the star. :)
Paws is a standalone, single player, adventure, platformer set in the world of Shelter 2 with loss and friendship as its central themes.

I wish it was possible to bring the bear to live with you can your family, but the mother would likely kill the bear, thinking it's a threat.

One of the toughest dilemmas I've ever had. The shelter games are such tearjerkers, I swear! D: I went with Momma Lynx, but man I was crying when I had to leave the bear behind.

That's why I didn't follow the mom. I thought that she already is taking care of the other cubs, and also she saw that I am alive, so I think that was enough to encourage her that I've grown into a cub that can take care of myself already. That kinda makes me more comfortable with leaving her. I don't feel as bad for leaving the mom, I feel bad only if I leave the bear.

I swam to Mum thinking the bear would come with but once I turned around he wasn't there! so I tried to swim back but Mumma kept taking me away from the water. poor bear :(

I never knew there was an alternitave ending. :0 I found out through a review. And I got the bear ending on my first playthrough If there's one thing Might And Delight is good at, it's making me sad. No joke, when I first saw the endings of both Shelter2 and Paws, I balled my eyes out. 😭 They don't have me cry as much anymore, but they make me sad inside. 😥

The first Shelter game also had a sad ending - the circle of life ending, when the Eagle grabs the parent to feed his babies. But Paws is my favorite among them all.

I don’t know how I would choose my first time I went with the mom thinking the bear would come and it didn’t when I saw it in spirit form I freakin cried my eyes out 😭 and I still am now but I don’t know how I would choose between family and the bear seeing the mom in spirit form breaks my heart as well 😭

bro i felt so bad when i left with the bear, i could just see my mum calling me and roaring. what’s even sadder is that she waited there with the cubs as i left. that bit almost made me cry 😭

I did too, but I thought it would be the lesser evil to leave the mum with the other cubs, because the mum has the other cubs, but the bear no one! I couldn't leave the bear, and I know that the mum with the other cubs would be fine!

You can stay with the Bear?? But it's so much more sad then just leaving the bear..I would much rather leave a friend that could kill me in the future, then be away from my family

Yes you can! I decided to stay because one way or another the cubs will leave their mother one day, and I made a new friend, the bear, and I'd rather keep the bear friend than see the cub grow and leave her again!

HawkyPlays also after all the adventures with the bear, you just don't feel like leaving it :D there is one sad moment in the game where the bear can't follow you and then people think that this is the end they are forced to seperate but in fact the bear seems to find A way across :D

I didn't actually know the bear could take care of you for getting hurt. That attack must not be scripted, because I got through that spot with all the islands without getting caught. Didn't even know the thing was there, just that there was slightly ominous music and I didn't like it so I kept hopping from island to island as fast as possible. That said, going with the family and hearing the bear crying out after me was a bit heartbreaking. The family likely assumes you're dead since they continued on without you and don't seem to actually notice until you've swam about halfway across the river, so you could technically move on with your friend while knowing that they're all okay. I wasn't super attached to the bear because the game is so short, but hearing the fading roars for several minutes as we walked towards the den was sad.

I couldn't leave the bear and I'll tell you why. It is like that in the animal kingdom, unlike in ours, mothers don't take care of their cubs for eternity. So after losing me in the game they've already moved on without me, and if I continue with them I'll once again sometime in the future pretty much be left on my own because nature would require it. While the bear and me share the same fate, I think the original and best ending of the game is to continue with your bear friend. I got really attached to it too.

Indeed. For the short time I got used to the company of the bear, and it was heartbreaking when we seperated at some point,. thinking that I wouldn't meet it again. But at the end I chose to stay with the bear, instead return with the mother.

I am not sure but it was very sad! Some say this is like a memory of the one you decided to go on without. In both ways it is very sad!

Apparently I don't think the bear ending the mother is dead. She has the other two siblings to take care of but they really wanted Inna to come back to them. It's a rough choice when the star show who you left and really makes you cry and wish their was a happy ending with your family and the bear. ( This comment is W a y to late but I wanted to explain ) Edit : I said a question to my sister once and the question was " Would you pick to spend your last time with your family or friends? " ( She picked Family by the way )

By following the bear instead of the mother Lynx, which means not crossing the river to get to the mother, but continue walking with the bear as seen in the video!
